The actual moving is done by its network of motor carrier partners.

Overall Rating: 4.5 / 5 (Excellent)

In contrast to many moving companies who disclose few facts about their operations and services, Allegiance Moving and Storage presents consumers with detailed, specific information about what it does and how much it costs. The company also makes clear that it is a broker, not a mover, unlike some of its competitors who seem to blur that distinction. These are encouraging, pro-consumer practices. Since the company is a newer player in the moving brokerage business, it remains to be seen whether it can successfully navigate the challenges posed by being in the middle between the consumer and the mover. Based on what we've seen, however, we'd be very tempted to give them a try.

Services Offered - 4.7 / 5

Allegiance offers all the services that a state-to-state residential move might require: assistance with packing, storage, and auto transport to name the big three. However, since Allegiance is a broker, the services rendered by each mover it partners with will necessarily vary. Consumers are advised to inquire about what services are--and are not--offered by the company that actually performs their move.

Allegiance Moving and Storage gets high marks from us for the transparency of its operations. The company's website very clearly lays out charges and options and offers firm estimates. These disclosures give us confidence in its operations. However, the company has only been in business for about a year, so unsurprisingly there isn't a lot of information available about its reputation among its customers. To date in 2019, the company has had 16 complaints lodged against it with the Department of Transportation. Most of these concerned problems with estimates and final charges, shipping documents, and pickup/delivery. The company's reviews on the BBB website are mixed, though a majority are largely positive. Allegiance has no reviews on Trust Pilot. Since it is a broker, not a mover, Allegiance's reputation is largely dependent on the behavior of its moving contractors. Careful consumers should investigate the reputation of the mover Allegiance proposes contracting their move to; that will yield a much more useful picture of customer satisfaction levels.

Fleet - 4.7 / 5

As a broker rather than a mover, Allegiance doesn't have a fleet of its own. As your advocate through this entire process, Allegiance works closely with the carriers that are in their network and prices and sells the loads according to the carriers' tariffs and the accepted rates. Allegiance has a five-step carrier vetting process. Consumers who are interested in finding out about the number of drivers and trucks their mover has should look up that information once they are told which mover Allegiance plans to assign the project to.

Worst company EVER! They increase your costs at every opportunity and try to blame you. Even though I specifically asked for someone to come to my house to make sure that didn't happen and the person adjusted my costs and materials accordingly once the movers arrived they tried to increase costs again $2000!!!! Completely unacceptable. When I had issues with scheduling they again tried to blame me "not understanding how they work" - if you didn't explain it, how would I know the movers would show up at noon and not leave until 9 pm? Never happened with my other movers! 9 pm at night and they did such a crappy job filling the truck not everything fit. I was asked to "decide what I... Read More

Sammy and Joseph were excellent at making this move work. They made up for the miscommunications from the broker. I would work with them again. They were efficient, polite and well organized.

Please know that this was the WORST experience that we have ever encountered AND its not over. (our belongings have yet to be delivered at the other end). Nothing that our Representative from your company, John Capella, told us seemed to be true. First off I was told that Allegiance Moving was the "Grandfather Clock Experts".....people that came had NO IDEA HOW TO HANDLE THE CLOCK. AT NO TIME was I told that we would NOT be dealing with Allegiance but that it would be another company that would be coming to get our stuff. I was under the Impression that Allegiance would be the company coming and was also told that the Driver of the Truck that came would STAY with the Truck all the way... Read More

I have had a unpleasant experience with Allegiance in my move of 1200 miles from IL to Texas. Allegiance is a broker for movers and I was told the movers were vetted. I was scheduled to be moved by Arena Van Lines out of New Jersey. The movers came late each time. They came at 5 pm on one day and wanted to work until midnight. While the two movers were courteous and worked hard I found the time issue to be a problem. I had to pay the pick up fee and delivery fees with cash or postal money orders. This requirement of cash or money order raised a flag but I let it go. The movers did pack the items well. The first estimate was low and I was afraid it was too low so I called and... Read More

WARNING!!! Had a horrible experience dealing with this company. They took an advance payment and never delivered on the service and quality that was written in the initial contract I had signed. The company failed to provide the necessary moving supplies to pack our items as stated in the contract and to top it all there was no 18-wheeler truck sent to our residence to pick our items. In the end I had to forfeit my deposit of more than 3k and had to hire a new moving company to transport my items cross-country. I will never do business with this company again.

Initial contact was very positive. The Quality Assurance was very helpful at explaining inventory and the initial quote was the lowest I had received. But... when the actual movers came and loaded the truck, the final cost was $750 more than Allegiance's estimate and the only extra time I had added to the original inventory was 1 medium sized U-Haul box. I made several calls to both Allegiance and the actual mover, 1 of 1 Moving out of New Jersey, and received the same explanation. That was my items must have been larger than average and took up more space on the truck! Really?? This was my first experience with a cross country move, PA to ID. In the future I will either rent... Read More

Hired this company, so many hidden fees. Took 1 mon from Nevada to Georgia... 2 wardrobe boxes and all our brand new baby gifts, have been stolen. No one will return a call, let alone answer the phone. Our baby is due in 5 weeks and none of it arrived with our other boxes. EVERY SINGLE BABY BOXES.... ALL BRAND NEW, EVERYTHING FOR OUR 1ST BABY....THEY STOLE EVERYTHING!! Do not use these people. Again, no answer of their phones and messages not returned. I will put this company on SOCIAL MEDIA BLAST...... I PLAN to leave negative reviews until this company will take responsibility. How dare they steal out wardrobe boxes and everything for our baby. Due in 5 weeks. Scum of... Read More

BAIT AND SWITCH!!!! They called a day earlier than the moving window we agreed to, asking if they could come and move my father's things in 2 HOURS!!!! My father had to pay over 100.00 for a cab ride home to meet them and then they didn't show up for another 7 HOURS, at 8pm (AT NIGHT!) AND charged my elderly and ill father 250.00 EXTRA dollars, claiming that he had gone over the cubic footage that we were quoted; which is a LIE because we measured and TOOK PICTURES of everything beforehand!!! We were then told the items would be delivered 5 days later (after being transported from Upstate New York to North Carolina) on Monday, August 3rd; so I took off work to be there for the delivery.... DO NOT USE. Didn't supply me with local moving firm name (Northwest Relocation, do NOT use them either). DAY LATE. Couldn't reach original rep. Whenever called or emailed, always referred to someone else. Cost was DOUBLE original estimate. SCAM!! They saw an elderly lady who needed a cane to walk and took advantage. Packers did not wear masks or gloves as required by Oregon and Washington. Just shoved items, fragile with heavy stuff into boxes with no wrapping between them resulting in breakage. Did not treat antiques special, although I identified them and paid for special packing. Did not follow instructions regarding items going to storage. Could not reach outside normal... Read More

I am having overwhelming difficulty getting information, and correcting misinformation from the company that is handling the move. I was moving my Aunt's belongings out a senior residence. They showed up 30 hours late and after the senior center office had closed. It was 8 PM. That was after being told 4 or 5 times over the previous two days that they had arrived. They finally came shortly after I requested my deposit refund. I had another mover ready to do the job. They loaded the truck without alerting me or anyone being present. I was promised that I would be able to go over the inventory before they left. I asked for the license plate number as the security guard at the senior center... Read More
