Overall Rating: 4.5 / 5 (Excellent)

In contrast to many moving companies who disclose few facts about their operations and services, Allegiance Moving and Storage presents consumers with detailed, specific information about what it does and how much it costs. The company also makes clear that it is a broker, not a mover, unlike some of its competitors who seem to blur that distinction. These are encouraging, pro-consumer practices. Since the company is a newer player in the moving brokerage business, it remains to be seen whether it can successfully navigate the challenges posed by being in the middle between the consumer and the mover. Based on what we've seen, however, we'd be very tempted to give them a try.

Services Offered - 4.7 / 5

Allegiance offers all the services that a state-to-state residential move might require: assistance with packing, storage, and auto transport to name the big three. However, since Allegiance is a broker, the services rendered by each mover it partners with will necessarily vary. Consumers are advised to inquire about what services are--and are not--offered by the company that actually performs their move.

Allegiance Moving and Storage gets high marks from us for the transparency of its operations. The company's website very clearly lays out charges and options and offers firm estimates. These disclosures give us confidence in its operations. However, the company has only been in business for about a year, so unsurprisingly there isn't a lot of information available about its reputation among its customers. To date in 2019, the company has had 16 complaints lodged against it with the Department of Transportation. Most of these concerned problems with estimates and final charges, shipping documents, and pickup/delivery. The company's reviews on the BBB website are mixed, though a majority are largely positive. Allegiance has no reviews on Trust Pilot. Since it is a broker, not a mover, Allegiance's reputation is largely dependent on the behavior of its moving contractors. Careful consumers should investigate the reputation of the mover Allegiance proposes contracting their move to; that will yield a much more useful picture of customer satisfaction levels.

Fleet - 4.7 / 5

As a broker rather than a mover, Allegiance doesn't have a fleet of its own. As your advocate through this entire process, Allegiance works closely with the carriers that are in their network and prices and sells the loads according to the carriers' tariffs and the accepted rates. Allegiance has a five-step carrier vetting process. Consumers who are interested in finding out about the number of drivers and trucks their mover has should look up that information once they are told which mover Allegiance plans to assign the project to.

Truck was supposed to come this morning after postponing from yesterday (ok, 2 day window so still ok) - but now it is 6 pm and I hear they're not coming - until tomorrow. Delayed for 2 days. Nightmare. Handing the keys over today - nobody cares. All lines go to voicemail. Please DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

Allegiance broker John Baxter advised not to get the extra insurance, WHAT A FOOL I WAS! My price was increased TWICE: Allegiance double charged me to do an second inventory and because they said they needed a larger truck and 4 men, I got two men and 12 hours of loading! I had to sleep on the floor as it was too late. On the day of pick up S & M Relo increased my charge to now nearly $8,000 from $4600. S & M is the most unprofessional moving company I have every dealt with, and Allegiance Moving and Storage is the most unethical BROKER charging over $3000 in fees for no performance, nothing no support or help and a most horrible referral of a moving company. Shame on you for not... Read More

I moved from Texas to Idaho and it was a terrible experience. I had to deal with 3 different companies to get my move. I was told this after I got my first bid. The original bid was 2500. Ended up costing me over 7000. Stay away from this company. Extra money charges by movers picking up an d additional charge on delivery. There contact Kevin promised to see the move thru. I had to deal with drivers and at least 5 different people to get my move completed. Boxes were crushed, damages to antiques. I am giving a 1 star but they deserve less. Waited 4 hours for them to find help to unload. Worst experience I have ever had.

Just like all the other reviews Allegince did a great job with our move. The whole process was easy and smooth. I dont expect movers to show up with coffee and donuts, just want them to move my things safely and quickly. That they did!

Great company! I've moved a dozen times in my life and not all movers are the same. Allegiance is top rate and cost $2000 less than Mayflower wanted

Me and my wife moved from St. Louis to Atlanta for work. My company let me get a couple quotes to choose from and although Allegiance was a little more expensive i am glad they chose them. The movers they sent were on time and professional and did a great job. I was a little leery since the movers had to rent a shuttle truck to get into my neighborhood but Allegiance assured me that was normal. I am haappy to say no damage! I read reviews of damage all over the internet with other companies but allegiance didn't break anything. I would reccomend them for sure.

I contacted Allegiance Moving and Storage in March 2021 when I accepted a job in Miami. I needed to move a three-bedroom house from PA to Miami later that year in June. I received three quotes from different companies; however, AMS claimed to cater to military moves and veterans. They gave me a veterans discount. My estimated move cost was just under $10,000. I thought I was all set. As the date grew closer, I had difficulty contacting the company, and the sales rep (John Capella) would not return my emails or calls. About a week before the move, I called to set up storage, and they told me they could not guarantee my move would happen on the day I needed it. When I mentioned canceling the... Read More

Allegiance Moving helped me move out of New York during the pandemic. Everyone I called wasn't servicing my area but they were able to get my items out of my home and into storage until I closed on my new home. There were a couple hiccups at delivery because my home is pretty remote, but in the end everything was delivered safe and sound.

Avoid this company. A) grossly underestimate the moving cost, you will pay double or triple what original estimate cites B) people moving our household out dropped and crushed boxes with extensive damage. C) people moving our household out left holes in ceiling, holes in 3 different wall locations. Left handprints on wall in multiple locations which could not be cleaned off. Door ways damaged, doors damaged and of course furniture scratched and damaged. Hardwood floors scratched. D) furniture going into storage - the size of storage unit was greater than truck size, yet due to poor unloading, furniture did not fit into storage location E) unloaded refused to remove blankets to allow... I moved recently and selected Allegiance based on its high ranking on the Consumers Advocate website. Except for ‘friends and family’ reviews, I cannot understand any positive input. We were quoted a very low price upon the initial phone call; that price doubled over the next few days; additionally, we were never informed that cash or a bank check was required upon pick-up AND delivery by the carrier which Allegiance had hired (apparently Allegiance is a middle-man, hiring outside contractors). To clinch the deal, “John B” urged us to avoid the extra $850 additional fee for guaranteed delivery date, stating this extra charge was unnecessary , that Allegiance’s reliability is assured...
