Overall Rating: 4.5 / 5 (Excellent)

In contrast to many moving companies who disclose few facts about their operations and services, Allegiance Moving and Storage presents consumers with detailed, specific information about what it does and how much it costs. The company also makes clear that it is a broker, not a mover, unlike some of its competitors who seem to blur that distinction. These are encouraging, pro-consumer practices. Since the company is a newer player in the moving brokerage business, it remains to be seen whether it can successfully navigate the challenges posed by being in the middle between the consumer and the mover. Based on what we've seen, however, we'd be very tempted to give them a try.

Services Offered - 4.7 / 5

Allegiance offers all the services that a state-to-state residential move might require: assistance with packing, storage, and auto transport to name the big three. However, since Allegiance is a broker, the services rendered by each mover it partners with will necessarily vary. Consumers are advised to inquire about what services are--and are not--offered by the company that actually performs their move.

Allegiance Moving and Storage gets high marks from us for the transparency of its operations. The company's website very clearly lays out charges and options and offers firm estimates. These disclosures give us confidence in its operations. However, the company has only been in business for about a year, so unsurprisingly there isn't a lot of information available about its reputation among its customers. To date in 2019, the company has had 16 complaints lodged against it with the Department of Transportation. Most of these concerned problems with estimates and final charges, shipping documents, and pickup/delivery. The company's reviews on the BBB website are mixed, though a majority are largely positive. Allegiance has no reviews on Trust Pilot. Since it is a broker, not a mover, Allegiance's reputation is largely dependent on the behavior of its moving contractors. Careful consumers should investigate the reputation of the mover Allegiance proposes contracting their move to; that will yield a much more useful picture of customer satisfaction levels.

Fleet - 4.7 / 5

As a broker rather than a mover, Allegiance doesn't have a fleet of its own. As your advocate through this entire process, Allegiance works closely with the carriers that are in their network and prices and sells the loads according to the carriers' tariffs and the accepted rates. Allegiance has a five-step carrier vetting process. Consumers who are interested in finding out about the number of drivers and trucks their mover has should look up that information once they are told which mover Allegiance plans to assign the project to.

I spoke with Austin 2 times and he is a great help. I would use these people to move my stuff anytime and am glad to have arranged this move today. Maury

Contrary to its name, this company is solely a broker - they do not actually move any items - and does not clearly explain this during any conversation(s) had with them. I was originally estimated $2746.85 for a move from VA to NY, which then was increased to $3021.18 when I had to call prior to the scheduled move to adjust inventory - as they did not call themselves to confirm the inventory as they said they would. When the actual movers arrived I was quoted $4607.18 total on the day of the move, leaving me with no choice but to pay the movers' estimate. I disputed the fluctuation with Allegiance whom gave no logical explanation to the increase in charges and told me the decision from... Read More

I am not a customer, but I have called Allegiance 21 times--that is the exact number from my call history and does not include other calls and emails made by my other family members--to try to help my parents and sister (who are customers) with a very difficult situation. They hired Allegiance to help them move from Arizona to Florida. I received one and only callback during that time on October 18th from Monica, who was only calling to correct a mistake she made over the phone a few minutes before, and who then proceeded to berate me for the second time that day. Allegiance hired Royal Star to do my parents' move. When the movers showed up, they charged $22,000 more than the original... Read More

Be aware of this company. They are a complete sham. They low ball an estimate to you and then the actual moving company comes out and gives you a much higher price. I hired them and was quoted $6300 and gave them actual measurements of every piec e I was moving. I was quoted $6300. Then one of there people get in touch with me a week before the move and up the estimate to $6900. Then the actual movers get there and tell me the price will be $10,900. Of course at this time, what can you do. And Allegiance knows this. DO NOT trust this company.

This company did not make it clear that they were a broker and not not the mover. They never gave us the name of the actual mover or advised us that they would charge more for the move when they arrived. They didn’t do an in person estimate - only by phone. The day of the move we had to make an extra trip to get postal money orders to sign to the actual moving company. We have been in our new home for 5 1/2 weeks and STILL haven’t gotten our furniture or boxes. The mover keeps saying they are waiting for a driver for the load!!! Allegiance has not been helpful at all or forthcoming. Once they get your initial deposit they don’t care about your move. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I hope but the... Read More

Never called this company, never gave them my info, they keep texting and texting me. I am not even moving anywhere? When I asked them to stop they got nasty and said I probably over paid for my move anyway? Who is moving, not me! If this is how they treat potential customers I can only imagine how they treat you once they have their money. STAY AWAY...

When I signed up with them, I didn't realize they were not an actual moving company but a moving brokerage firm instead. I would not choose them again. I read some reviews where people had to pay more money because they were incorrectly quoted by Allegiance. That was also my experience unfortunatley. I was told someone from Allegiance would contact me prior to my move to go over my inventory list, and that never happened. The movers scheduled a day earlier which was nice, however I wasn't completely prepared for a day earlier move. I actually have less than what I was quoted however, the square footage was off because the system isn't accurate that they use. I had to pay an... Read More

First of all read the fine print that they are brokers and actually do not move you themselves because they will not tell you on the phone. The people that they sub contracted to move us were horrible. After they drove from New Jersey all night to Virginia, they packed a 3200 square foot house in less than 12 hours. After they packed our home up they wanted us to drive the following day to our destination to KY so they could go unload us. I told them that isn't what we were told and we have other things we have to take care of before we move from one state to another. They packed things I didn't want them to pack and packed things just in whatever box was the closest. I have broken... Read More

Avoid this company at all costs. As a moving broker, they made assurances during the booking process that were completely false. And as others have indicated, once the money is paid they do not even try to help. For example they led me to believe delivery would happen within 6 to 10 days of the pickup. However they did not even communicate that range to the moving company. Now, the moving company says they are not responsible because they never heard about the 6 - 10 day delivery range, they are only bound by federal law to deliver within 30 business days. And Allegiance says there is nothing they can do because they are not a moving company and did not sign any contracts. In essence,... Read More

If I could give this Company 0 stars or negative stars I would. They are great when booking, but then you pay the upfront deposit the service goes down hill from there. No one calls you back and the day or 2 days of your move no one shows up and they give you the run around for days. There is never a supervisor to help you either. If you are smart you will never use this Company. I will be using my in house council to get my refund back. Beware and stay away from these movers!!!
