I experienced a number of problems with ACME Relocation. Please BEWARE this company - choose another one. They will up the charges at the last minute (by double, in my case) and damage your belongings. First, my things were dumped haphazardly and without regard into the boxes. Nothing was organized, small things were mixed in with larger things, and unpacking was a nightmare. As would be expected with this kind of carelessness, some things were damaged, including two lamps, professional rolled up research posters, makeup, and a souvenir from Paris that is not replaceable. If I could give them a negative rating, I would. They are awful. They were late picking up, delivered late w/ only half of our stuff and delivered other people's stuff too. They broke our $3000 tv and 2 months later we are still waiting for the rest of our stuff, which has required us to buy new coats, appliances, kids clothes, etc. They are currently moving our belongings around the country without delivery. Our boxes that did arrive were smashed and some were open from damage. We were then told that receiving half of our order means our contract is complete. This was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. This company took my money and provided nothing. I paid them $2500.00 for contacting another company to do the move. I was told by Acme that the amount of items to be moved would take about 600 sqft. When the company finally arrived they said that the estimate from Acme was incorrect and that the amount of belongings was more like 900 sqft. I was originally supposed to pay the actual movers $1200.00 but I had to pay them another $1000.00. I also had to pay the same company upon delivery another $2300.00 and they would only accept cash. In my experience, ACME and InstaMove (the company ACME had handle the move) each earned a 9.9 rating, that is if what you're looking for is having your furniture bagged up and chipped, your belongings packed so poorly that numerous items will be damaged or broken, unnecessary charges added, deceptive promises, no responses, and terrible service.
If you’re looking for even more stress during your move, then I highly recommend them.
My elderly mother thought she was contracting with a moving company and not a broker. They contract with subpar moving companies. When the initial movers, Green Pelican Company, showed up it was difficult to communicate with them due to a language barrier. When packing the truck no furniture pads were used and consequently some items ended up with scratches or gouges. Our furniture was held in storage for almost 3 weeks. The final cost was thousands of dollars more than expected which was due to be paid to Green Pelican Moving co. I HATE THIS COMPANY. THEY DISGUISED THEMSELVES AS A MOVING COMPANY. THE COMPANY EARLY BIRD TRANSPORTATION OF NC INK WAS THE ACTUAL COMPANY THAT MOVED MY STUFF. THEY WERE AWFUL AND IT TOOK THEM SEVERAL WEEKS TO DELIVER MY STUFF. THEY ALSO DID NOT ASSEMBLE MY STUFF WHEN THEY DELIVERED IT TO MY HOME. I WILL NEVER USE THIS BROKER OR COMPANY AGAIN. THEY GET ZERO STARS!!!
Salesperson was slick and promised great communication but once deposit was made, never had time and passed all calls to customer service. Inadequate staff made unloading difficult for one driver who was also mover. Driver did not allow docs to stay with us but said we could take copies, very odd. The final price was VERY MUCH HIGHER THAN SHOWN AT ESTIMATE, so be prepared!!!!
Total scumbags. The other name of the company they use is New Leaf Moving Group. Read the "actual" reviews of customers. Theses moving brokers lie, change the price by double, the list goes on. How they are still in business blows my mind. I can only hope karma finds them and their family members. May what they do to people, especially seniors happen to them & their families.
I had an okay experience with Acme Relocation - the reason I say okay is because my furniture was delivered in a reasonable timeframe from San Diego, CA to Bradenton, FL. However I have the following comments: -Acme Relocation is merely a broker (they don't move anything) -I had another company show up to do the loading and as many others have said here I was charged $1200 more than the quote. Don’t walk, run away from this company. Customer service consists of blaming others and pointing fingers to others. Movers showed up with someone else’s stuff. The mover didn’t want to pay his employees for 2 days so he wanted to go back to unload the mistake, reload my stuff and complete the job at midnight. No one calls you back and their response is, what do you want me to do about it.
Read more on the BBB website. The salesman who calls on behalf of the company is absolutely lying to you. what ever you do, do not agree to use them unless EVERYTHING you discussed is in writing. Just a friendly tip for anyone actually commits to use this company for anything, they will not add anything in regards to stairs until the movers show up. they will charge you for the stairs regardless what the paperwork says. you will only have 3 days from the booking to cancel and retain any amount of the money. again the person who calls to lock in the rental WILL lie to you. IF ITS NOT IN WRITING THEN IT WILL NOT BE HONORED. end of story.

I did not have a good experience with Acme Relocation. I was given three different quotes and a lot of back and forth until they stopped answering my calls. They eventually told me to call their subcontracted company directly. The last quote they gave me a week away from my move DOUBLED the initial quote. I had to throw a lot of my furniture away to get the price down. They gave me a low initial quote and immediately requested a deposit and right away raised the price a few days after I paid the deposit because the person I spoke with on the phone "forgot" (?) about certain fees. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. THEY WILL DEFRAUD YOU! QUOTE YOU A FLATE RATE WITH NO SURPRISE CHARGES. THEN A 3rd PARTY SHOWS UP AND HAS AN EXHORBITANT FEE THAT YOU MUST AGREE TO PAY TO HAVE YOUR BELONGING DELIVERED! THERE IS NO FLAT RATE! IT IS THE RATE THEY QUOTE AS IN MY CASE 2100.00. PLUS A SEPERATE CARRIER CHARGE WHICH WAS 700.00 PLUS DOLLARS. JOE AT ACME SAID THAT THE TRUCK WAS MINE I COULD FILL IT UP. Check BBB for the complaints regarding this company. They defraud customers acting as a full service moving company, until 48 hours before your move do they then inform you that a third party moving company will service you. Based on my experience and numerous others these moving companies are not insured, inexperienced, and will more than likely delay your items being delivered or try to hustle you for more money, Be aware as I now have a damaged dining room table and getting the runaround from ACME relocation. They are less than pleasant to deal with and have no regard for the customers.
This company was amazing from start to finish. The initial call was about 30 minutes, pickup was done in less then 5 hours, delivery was 10 days from NY to Texas. The guys who did the move were very professional, and nice to my elderly mother who was there with me. I will be moving again for work and when I do, I found my crew!
I recently had an awful experience. I moved from WA to NC and we had to put down a $978 deposit, the movers were supposed to show up between 3-6pm and called at 6:15 to tell me they are 2 hours away. When they got there they did not show up with the space that was promised and said they could just "strap my stuff to the ramp". Obviously I didn't like this option and wanted the space that was promised and not strapped to a ramp in a notoriously rainy area. The driver also said he hadn't slept in 2 days and was on a strict schedule, also not something I was excited to hear. I currently have a move in transit with Acme and have had a very bad experience with this company. I was quoted a certain amount and on the day the movers showed up they told me I was not told the right thing and that it would be $2000 more than originally quoted. I was then told that the move would take 21 days to find out 3 weeks later that i'm on day 7 because they don't count weekends and that its 21 days from the date of delivery 5 days after the move. When I called customer service the representative was rude and blamed me. Do yourself a favor and find another company!!!
Watch out with this Company! The worst. Outrageous AD Man FEE. Very Poor Customer Service. Terrible inventory. I will continue at a later date.
