Trinity Relocation Group Review
Brokers Versus Movers
Some moving companies move your belongings themselves but others work with a network of moving companies to get you and your stuff where you're going. Trinity Relocation falls into the latter category of moving brokers. The advantages of working with a broker like Trinity come down to flexibility. A broker is often better able to schedule your move when it's best for you. They can sometimes move you quicker, as well. A good broker works on its clients behalf to find each customer the best price on his or her move.
The disadvantage of working with a broker is that the quality of service they provide may prove to be uneven. Some moving companies brokers partner with are going to be better than others. When you choose to work with a broker, it's important to investigate, to the best of your ability, the actual moving company assigned to your job. Ask for your assigned moving company's DOT (Department of Transportation) number and check out its record at https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov. Search various consumer review sites for opinions on its services. If you're not satisfied by what you read, ask your broker to assign you to another company.
Breadth of Services
Trinity Relocation specializes in interstate moving exclusively. The company can't move you around the corner or around the world. But within their specialty, it does provide the comprehensive set of moving services most people need. Trinity provides moving supplies if you want to pack up your house yourself or you can choose to engage the company's professional packers. Having a moving company pack for you is not only a time-saver, but it also puts the onus for packing your items securely on the moving company, providing an additional level of safety.
Trinity also offers storage solutions for those times when you need to arrive early in your new home town but can't move into your new digs right away. Thirty days free storage is included when you book a move through Trinity. In addition, if you don't want to drive your car to your destination yourself, Trinity can transport it for you. The company serves both residential and commercial customers.
Reputation
Moving companies often get a bad rap from consumers. Maybe it's because moving is such a stressful time—psychologists who've studied such things count moving among the top five most stressful life events—and people are just crabby when they review moving companies online. Or perhaps it's because moving is very expensive and consumers rightfully have high expectations of the service they'll receive. It's hard to say.
In any case, Trinity Relocation's B rating with the BBB is a lot better than other moving services receive. We checked the Department of Transportation database and there were about 20 complaints registered against the company in 2020 but that is not unusual. Since Trinity Relocation is a moving services broker that matches consumers with actual moving companies, it's important to keep in mind that some of the poor reviews and complaints registered are in response to the company's partners. One would hope that Trinity Relocation evaluates its partners regularly and eliminates the unreliable ones. A large percentage of the complaints and reviews we read had to do with estimates not aligning with invoices. This underscores the importance of reading your moving estimates carefully. Look for a company that guarantees the accuracy of its estimates, provides adequate insurance for your belongings, and makes filing claims easy.
Transparency
We appreciated that Trinity Relocation publishes a Terms and Conditions document on its website. The company makes clear that when you receive a quote for you move you're getting a binding estimate, not signing a contract. That binding estimate is subject to revision if some aspect of your move changes. Having more boxes than you originally expected or if a shuttle vehicle is required to complete your move due to difficult access are some of the reasons the company mentions why your estimate will be revised. One thing to note is that when you accept a bid from Trinity, you agree not to pursue Trinity, but rather the actual moving company you're assigned for any breach of agreement or losses you may incur during your move. That makes it doubly important to investigate your assigned moving company before booking your move.
You can request a quote from Trinity online or via phone. Trinity states in its privacy policy that it will not share your information with any company that isn't esssential to providing the moving services you're interested in. But that group of companies may include several of Trinity's moving company partners. If you'd like to avoid getting too many emails, requesting a quote by phone might be a better choice.
