I felt like I was sucked in by a bait and switch as they offered me $60 off my first meals. Of course, when I went there, Freshly said $20 each of my first 3 batches of meals. I only wanted to try one batch. I read how to order A La Cart and followed the directions. I thought I succeeded. The subscriptions needs to completely cancel when you cancel it - no bills/meals should be sent after you have cancelled your subscription.
Definitely not worth the price, let alone all the heads and stomach issues that came with these meals. I have digestive issues and can't eat a lot of the pre-made meals from grocery stores or any fast food, so I researched a meal service that could meet my needs. My first two deliveries went fine and I didn't have any stomach issues after eating them. No solution offered, just a refund. I have a disabled sister who lives in another state. My aging parents are struggling to care for her, and I tried to help by having Freshly meals delivered for her every week. They arrive on time maybe one out of four weeks. Usually I get an email saying the meals will arrive late and so they have instructed the shipping company to discard them. Our experience with Freshly has actually made things more difficult for my family since planning is impossible, and I couldn't be more disappointed in this company. Food is good, if it arrives. For the past two weeks the meals were delivered a day late, and spoiled.
Today’s delivery was left out on my driveway in the Arizona sun.
Truly bad service.
Terrible quality, and shipped meals that were set to expire two days after delivery date (on which OnTrac delivered at 8:45 pm the day it was due.) You could spend the same amount at your supermarket deli for better quality food.
Had three meals from Freshly this week. We would reorder each one of them, as they were appealing to the vision and very tasty. Finally ... a food meal plan that has real taste!
Do not receive meals on time, receive meals I did not order, poor customer service, most of the food is disguised by making it too spicy to eat. No amount of feedback or complaints from customers makes any difference to Freshly. Their solution to everything is a refund. Do Not Recommend Freshly.
I cannot beleive some of the good reviews on other sites. We have been on Freshly for several months and recently decided it was time to go. None of it looks appealing, all the items tend to mush together and at some level it all tastes similar. No matter what you're eating. The Paella last night was one of the worst things, with tiny shrimp and a glue-y taste overall.
If my father, rest his soul, was still around and tried any of the entrees, he would call it slop.
We have tried two weeks of meals, several different choices and each meal is just not appealing to the sight or taste. No amount of spices or any other attempt to make them enjoyable works. Based on our first week's delivery... Delivery: Received the day they said we would. However, the box itself was hot, the ice packs were half-melted and the food packages themselves were wet, almost like it was sitting in a hot van for quite a while. Packaging: I understand they have to keep the food cool, but what am I going to do with two gel packs and the denim-filled insulation? Seems like a waste if you ask me. Food: Average. This review is for the delivery service that Freshly uses not the meals. DSL is their delivery service which by the way has a horrible rating on BBB. Freshly refunded me, but thats not the point they don't seem interested in doing anything about their delivery service..it looks like I'm not the first to complain about your delivery company so I will stop ordering.
awful! I received a email stating my food would be here June 8 by 10PM food never came, no one knows where my package is and will never order here again. FIND I NEW DELIVERY SERVICE
Meat was often fatty. Meals look nothing like advertisements, more like chunky soups or one bowl frozen meals. Salt is often high but flavors are flat. Tried this for four weeks, every week there was at least one meal completely inedible. I would not recommend.
Contrary to what is here rated as " healthy" meal, I would have to disagree. 600 calories including no desert is more the norm than the exception. 1,000 mg sodium is outlandish, especially for those medicating for or monitoring their blood pressure/ water retention. Added sugar is another culprit. For those unable to handle spicey foods, no indication is given in the food ingredients until you actually have the meal in hand and read the box for details. Same goes for pork additives for the benefit of Kosher consumers.
I ordered this for my daughter for college. While my daughter likes the meals, the courier they use is AWFUL. The packages were returned by the courier 6 times due to the fact that they couldn't deliver them on time. I had to call every week to say the package was returned. They had no solution to this problem, so I canceled the subscription. I would not recommend this service due to the shipping problems.
I just received my first delivery. I looked at the ingredients listed and nothing resembled “fresh food”. I found the sausage penne tasteless as were the two other meals we ate . I already cancelled my subscription and now I’m seriously considering throwing out the nine additional Freshly meals I have.
Notice the repetitive "does not arrive as scheduled". My input is the same. I've had several arrive the day after I scheduled, and some not arrive at all. If you depend on these to come as expected, be prepared with a backup plan. They promise the packaging is good for 2 days of travel plus 12 hours of waiting at your door. Alot of the dishes are good (some really good), some not so good. But you find out within a few weeks which ones are your re-orderable ones. Was very loyal for a long time, they screw up alot on orders and packing. Finally had it and cancelled.
Very salty. And truthfully some dishes taste aweful. But it gets the job done for fooding food in your stomach with no prep... just microwave and eat.
The welcome questionnaire asks if you like beef, pork, chicken, fish and even shellfish, but nearly every meal offered is some variation on a chicken breast slathered with some kind of sauce. There is NO seafood of any kind, and of 30 meal choices are only a couple are beef or pork. (And not even like a chop - the pork is a few cubes or shredded.) The accompanying vegetables or rice are mushy and tasteless. I find the fact that you have the same 30 meals to choose from every week ridiculous! No other meal service is so redundant! When my delivery did not arrive as usual at 4 p.m., they said to wait. It did not arrive. I am left without food in these dangerous times. The food was only mediocre anyway but because of delivery I was willing to accept it but failure to manage delivery, only sending a text that my order was cancelled 2 days after saying it was on the way, shows you cannot count on this company. Too risky.
