Awful company with extremely poor customer service response. Don’t waste your time and money!
They do not do a good job of re-seeding. When I called to re-schedule, I got two different dates and they didn't show up either time. Their phone service just plain doesn't work. You are asked to put in your street number and no one answers. It just goes back to the directory. Their phone responders are inappropriate such as "I love you for a child of God" from one. What!!!! Do not use.
I don't like the way they automatically renew your plan from year to year without checking with its customers. I got an unwanted treatment at the beginning of the year. I tried to complain, but was told I would have to make the extra payment because I didn't cancel from LAST YEAR !! Signed an Ex Customer
TruGreen has got to be the worst company on the planet. TruGreen WINS 1st PLACE at having the worst service AND the worst customer service of any company, in any industry. I don't have the time or space to write the horrible novel experience I have had with TruGreen. In a nut shell, they destroyed my lawn ( I would have been far better off doing nothing at all), and overcharged me for horrible and costly damage to my lawn, and countless hours trying to deal with them.

I spent hours trying to get some answer. I was talked into buying lawn package. When they scheduled the visit we were given a window of 7-3. Also they were confused as to why we needed to find out what is wrong with our lawn before treatment. They said that if we could be there we could leave our yard open. They would leave us an evaluation on our door and do the treat. Shouldn't we be there. Very poor way of doing business.
I hope there technicians are better than their customer support and the automated call system.... it took 2 hours and 4 people for them to find my account which I never received a confirmation on... but they sure charged my cc for a full year service... next time I use a local company
Clearly a bad choice for your lawn
These guys just dump fertilizers and weed killers blindly on each visit. Technicians I have had on my property do not know the difference between a summer grass vs. cool season grass. I just had them fertilize my bermuda grass in December and leave me a note that my grass is "browning" due to dry conditions. Completely clueless. Cancelling service.
I have trugreen for so many years. So many times they burned some places of my lawn. I have so many times Told them I do not want liquid fertilizer they still did it sine then I spoke to a manager told my complaint. She still schedule a maintenance . What I want someone to come I see it and then find a solution. For 2 days I have been leaving messages still waiting for that phone call
The service never showed up. I was waiting for them for 2 hours (the ever changing window of service) and then suddenly got a message "TruGreen has completed your TruMaintenance Lawn Service" plus a pdf file with "service summary" stating "Today, I applied fertilizer to thicken up your lawn and improve its health and color". But nobody ever has shown up! - I was sitting on my porch all the time, waiting for them. I tried to call the customer service right away and was put on hold for 30 min, then I hanged up because had to do other things. This is utterly unprofessional and displays no respect to the client (paying money!).
This is my first year with TruGreen services which has been horrible! I signed up with the Virginia Beach location for my service. When I scheduled for my first service, my patio was being installed. I called and canceled. Two days later I found a sign in my front yard that my lawn had been treated. I've been trying to reach my representative for two weeks and his voicemail is full and he hasn't answered any of my emails or text messages. I paid for the year upfront. If I hadn't I would cancel immediately!
Very first application they never showed up, and I received a message that they were unable to provide my treatment with no explanation. I tried the chat on their app, and it would not load. I called their customer service number, and was on hold for over an hour with no one ever picking up.
I'd give them a zero stars if I could. Terrible service. I used them for my lawn for a while, but started to see all kinds of weeds. I tried working with them for about a year to try and resolve the issue, calling every time and asking them to come out when there was a problem, but they didn't seem to care. They were not at all proactive about coming up with solutions. I feel like they just showed up, sprayed whatever they had on their truck and sent me a bill. They never diagnosed the problem. Trugreen Service has regressed to the point where it is necessary for me to suspend service till I hear from an accountable staffer. Customer service is at its worst this month. 8 hour Callbacks is unmet. 1 week later and still awaiting callback. 48 hour email response is still in queue 1 week later. Cannot recommend Trugreen.
First of all Trugreen did a good job with the lawn.. Weeds were few and grass was healthy. Tech tended to work to quickly and there were several spots around edges and mailbox that needed work. My problem with them is that they auto renew contract with little to no notification. When they showed up in March 2021 with no notice I was told by tech that he was just given a list of lawns to do and hd no knowledge of contracts. When I called the company I was told the auto renew notice was on bills from last year. When I checked it was on the back amongst many rules that most people only read if there is a problem. I used their service for 5 months and saw no difference. A different person came every month. On the last visit I told the person that I was not seeing any fewer weeds; I was seeing more. He said if they killed weeds it would kill the grass. At least my grass was nice & green, but when he left there were several places in the lawn that appeared to be burnt. I thought it might perk back up, but no such luck. Those patches are completely dead. Now I have to plant new sod again. I paid them to destroy my lawn. Horrible service!!
I would not give any stars if it were possible. I signed up for a full plan, and pre-paid for it up front. I followed the instructions left on my door after each treatment, and after having had all but one treatment, my yard looks horrible! I believe they burned my lawn. To add insult to injury whatever they sprayed on my lawn is now killing my large tree in my front yard. I did not want them back on my lawn, so I called and requested a refund for the last treatment in my plan, and was told I would not be able to get that refund. I will now be taking legal action.
I would NOT recommend this company! Horrible customer service (with the exception of a couple).
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with a company in my life, and im 70 years old.
Steer clear...go elsewhere.....these folks are terrible.
Don't trust TruGreen, I have had problems with this company and their empty promises for some time. I have been waiting for them for three weeks and I have talked to them 3 times during the past two weeks. I don't see how they stay in business. They do not stand behind their services.

Do not use TruGreen. Although I have used them for a number of years I found that slowly they upgraded my services without my consent and billed accordingly. Also my lawn was doing the best in years just last week. TruGreen came,sprayed something on the lawn , and now it's dead. Only three days later. They have done nothing about it and have not offered to fix the problem and restore my lawn. Do not use them.
Not happy at all with their service. Never using them again. Been almost a week and no one has called or come out. They burnt our whole lawn. Ruined.
We have had issues with Trugreen for 2years. Always— we will fix it. Again, We would complain, they would come out and nothing improved. We asked them to follow up with their progress and they never did. We had expensive plush green grass that is now dying.
I would not recommend them.
So my last service was on April 22, 2020. Three times TruGreen scheduled my lawn treatment (May 22, June 5, June 10) and THREE times towards end of day even though the app shows in same neighborhood and indicated my lawn was next, they did not show up. When I called customer service, they said it indicated I had cancelled service??!!
After the second incident, I called and requested am service as every time I seem to be scheduled last (1-6pm).
While I am happy with the results of my lawn, I will be switching to another lawn care.

Terrible company. Service man went to neighbors house next door and did my service on his yard. I called customer service and it is terrible. I called. On day and they said they would have someone out, I called today and I was t on the schedule. Unreal. They were going to just charge me for the service that they did not do on my lawn. I asked for a mgr to call me back, let’s see what happens
Customers be aware!! they will promise you the world for you to sign up with them, but their service is worst than HORRIBLE!!! if you are thinking of hiring them to take care of your lawn, you will be better off doing the work yourself. I have had them for a year and they did nothing!!. I regret switching to them!! Customers also be aware they will charge you for things that you do not authorize. I would give them a -1 star if it was available!!
I don't know where to begin. My experience has been a nightmare from day one and it borders on fraud. After using them the previous year, I cancelled my service because my lawn looked worse at the end of the season than before they started. In April I got a call from a salesman asked me to return as a customer. I explained to him what I needed. In addition to regular treatments, I needed to fill on bare spots so I wanted to include aeration and over seeding as my first service. He assumed that that would be fine and we settled on a price.
