DO NOT use Davey for your lawn care needs. They aerated and overseeded our yard in the late fall of 2023. The seed never sprouted because they sowed it too late in the season. After numerous calls to get rescheduled for a reseeding in the spring, the tech showed up. Upon his arrival, I asked if he was going to put straw on top of the seed as Brian, the manager, stated they were going to do. The tech said no and that he thought the soil really needed to be raked to hold the seed. I agreed with him and he went back to his boss, Terry. The most ineffective tree treatment we have ever experienced. The company is more interested in making money rather than true customer care and doing the right things for the customer. They went as far as treating some obviously dead trees, shamefully, because our service agreement with them was not terminated "in writing". A phone call alone to the office would not do, apparently.
Very dissatisfied customer.

This place is the worst . I contacted them to do a job. The person from Davey came out, told me specifically what the would be doing and how they would be doing it . I received a quote. The crew came out and said they didn't have the right equipment for the job with them , but said they would be able to do it with other equipment at a later date. I contacted the rep again. He explained again in detail the equipment needed and assured me the job WOULD get done, and set a tentative date for the work to be done. In reply to me after paying $ 474.10 for tree service that was quoted at $440.00. I was contacted and told they would make it right, they sent me a credit for $31.16.
IHAVE NO USE FOR A CREDIT Will never use this company again and will let others know also.
Was quoted a price of $440.00 to have tree removed, but when I received the invoice it was for $474.10 total with tax. Nothing had been said to me that there would be tax added to the quote. As a senior and veteran living on a fixed income this was not appreciated.
Very Disappointing Service and Customer Relations! Removal of Tree Stump and trees. Poor clean-up of area and they asked me if they could plant the tree in the middle of the summer heat. Their own website states that trees should be planted in the fall!
I've heard good things about Davey and we wanted our Bradford Pear sprayed for a fungus. Got a good price and signed up in March 2022. We were supposed to have two applications. One in the spring and one in the summer. No one ever showed up. Tried numerous times to reach the guys over there. Finally got a response that they had come out. No one knocked or rang the door bell and never saw an invoice or evidence that anyone came by. June comes and goes and nothing on the so called second application. Emailed and 7 weeks later still haven't heard back from anyone.
Might be a good company and just having staffing issues. No idea what is going on over there.
I just had a representative come out to our home in Ancaster to have a look at our 7 cedars as ever since we had the deep root fertilization done about three weeks ago, all of the cedars are starting to die. We planted the cedars about 4 1/2 years ago and they have always looked very healthy. The response we got from Davey tree service was that our cedars must have been poor stock as in their opinion the fertilizer could not have been the issue. I would be very leery on having the deep root fertilizer done if you have any poor stock planted around the area of fertilization. My property was entered by this Davey tree servicec who I did not authorize. I have a powerline that runs along the fence line. My gate has a wedge to prevent it from being opened. They reached over opened my gate drove onto my property cut the trees around the power line left whatever did not make it in the chipper on the ground. Now I have a mess that they created to clean up. I have all the video footage. Our tax payer dollars at work. Very disappointing.
To whom it may concern: We write to provide feedback on a recent transaction involving trimming our arborvitae hedge. When Davey trimmed this hedge earlier in the year, we thought the hedge should have been trimmed to a lower height previously discussed w/Joe Oszust's staff. Subsequently, we brought this to Joe's attention. He and his staff returned to trim it until it was more in line w/our expectations. Joe managed the trimming to ensure that the subsequent growth would be delayed until after Winter, assuring that winterkill would not involve the anticipated re-growth. We've used Davey Tree Services for over 10 years. We've tried others who were equally good but much more expensive. Davey provided logical assessment of our trees, recommended good resolutions, showed up promptly with crews who were positive, friendly, task oriented and thorough in completing the job and leaving the property in clean, neat fashion. Our HOA respects their services and recommendations. I don't have time to shop around. Davey is the service I'm sticking with because of their reliability in all the factors above.
This company will rip you off.
Signed an 1800 contract for a treatment plan. Only for them to claim that the cost was PER TREATMENT... Meaning to have our trees treated would have been upwards of 3000. Mind you, we had 4 moderately-sized crape myrtles and a handful of saplings.
There are far more transparent companies with much better customer service.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

below is the email I sent to the rep in the Columbus Ohio location.
"Eric,I just wanted to let you know that our experience with the people that came to ground out the stumps was very poor for the following reasons.
We were not told when they would arrive to complete the job. Luckly my wife was home when they arrived.
The people that arrived to ground out the stumps were extremely rude to my wife.
They grounded out the wrong stump. They were supposed to ground out three stumps in the back yard. Instead they grounded out two stumps in the back yard and one stump in the front yard."
This was the best customer experience ever! The arborist was knowledgeable, service was prompt and effective and the representative were all courteous, friendly and professional.. Pricing was competitive. Bravo Davey Tree Service.
I made the mistake of hiring Davey tree for having a tree stump removed. We had electricity running out to our back yard for a future gazebo/hot tub and they accidentally cut the power supply. Gopher One came and marked where it was and we specifically showed them the location as well. We had a conversation with their representative and we told they weren't able to assist any further as they weren't responsible. They never offered to reimburse or get the electricity restored.
I made the mistake of hiring Davey tree (San Diego location) for trimming a pine tree that was overhanging on my property. I chose to hire what I thought was "professional" company, as the problem tree was owned by the city of San Diego and was also located on HOA property. When Daniel, Davey tree representative arrived in July 2015 to give me an estimate, I asked him whether I needed to get any permits (from the city or from the HOA). Daniel said that was not necessary as they were professionals and knew how to trim a tree without causing damages and thus the city or the HOA did not need to be contacted.
