As a free user, you get access to the first section of each language learning course. This includes six lessons, one conversation and one vocabulary section, plus weekly and monthly quizzes.

Premium users get access to 250 lessons, 33 conversations with a language-learning chatbot, 36 vocabulary builder lessons and additional resources like conjugation tables. The lessons also incorporate speech recognition software to help you improve your pronunciation. You can access these lessons and tools through Mondly's web app or mobile apps for Android or Apple devices.

How Does It Work?

While you don't have to create an account to begin using Mondly, it's best if you do because you'll be able to track and save your progress. Choose the language(s) you're interested in learning and your difficulty level and you can begin learning right away.

Mondly lessons focus on conversations in real-life situations rather than vocabulary alone so you can become fluent more quickly. It dynamically adjusts as you go and ranks your performance in each lesson so you can measure how you're doing and see what you may need to review.

Mondly's program is relatively unique among language learning software because it employs a chatbot and augmented reality to create a more immersive learning experience. This also helps keep the lessons more engaging. But if you'd like to take advantage of these features, make sure your smartphone is augmented reality-enabled. Otherwise, you will still be able to complete the lessons, but you won't be able to use any of the augmented reality features.

As you go through the program, you'll have a variety of lessons, some of which are focused on building your vocabulary and others that are working to improve your fluency and pronunciation. You'll also take quizzes to reinforce what you've learned in previous lessons. You can return to these lessons and quizzes at any time if you'd like to take them again.

Costs

The first six lessons in all Mondly languages are free and don't require an account to access. But if you'd like to take more lessons and have access to Mondly's additional resources, you'll have to upgrade to a premium account. You can purchase lessons for a single language if that's all you're interested in or buy access to the lessons for all 41 languages.

A single-language month-to-month subscription costs $9.99 per month, while an annual subscription costs $47.99. If you'd like access to all of Mondly's languages, you must go with an annual subscription. For a limited time, this costs the same as a single-language annual subscription so you're better off going with this option if you think there's a possibility that you may take lessons in more than one language.
