A scam like setting that can easily trick people falling into the traps. User unfriendly interface

I am currently taking the Lingoda Marathon and it is going very well. Reading the comments left on this site so far it seems to me that these people did not understand the Terms of Service when they signed up and didn't understand the concept of the marathon. If you sign up for the marathon, be sure to fully read all of the materials they offer on the marathon and fully understand what is expected of the students. If you fully understand the Terms of Service and the concept of the marathon and Lingoda then you will surely succeed and improve your language skills.

"Lingoda is an organised fraud learning platform. They take minimal money just to get your credit card details and tell you that they will refund once you have opened an account. After a months time, they take US$225 from your credit card. They default that amount in your account to take that money out without your permission. When you ask for the money back, they say that's under the terms and agreements when you signed up."

Once I registered and paid "Entry fee", I can't get the refund even if I didn't choose any class and I don't like their program. It means I have to pay them any way at least for the entry fee. They said full refunds for the Marathon but it's not all true. How you can trust them if they write entry fee refund policy on another page but it said full refund on the page that you register and pay the fee? It is tricky! I have never seen the language learning website do the business like this before. I'm very upset with them.

LINGODA STEALS YOUR MONEY It's not a language school either platform to assign your money without even trying to give you acceptable service. I've tried Lingoda for 2 weeks and got 2 cancelletions through 10 scheduled lessons(they inform you about cancellation at the minute that the lesson should start). There are always 4 students at a lesson and not "3 in average" as they announce. Spanish lessons are not 24/7(as announced) also by the way. Lessons are based on translation words in the language you study to English by teacher. The background of the lessons is very noisy. Some teachers finish the lesson earlier "because they have next lesson". And it's very difficult to get your... Read More

Don’t be sucked in by the 7-day guarantee money back offer. I wasn’t sure if Lingoda was the right provider but was reassured with their 7-day money back guarantee that could be enacted with a simple e-mail. Therefore, I decided to commit to learning French and parted with £287. But, I had problems getting the lessons working on my iPad. Without these issues resolved and the 7-day period coming to an ended I decided to close my account. It took three attempts before my closure e-mail was acknowledge. With the account closed I waiting for my refund - nothing. The end result is that I have paid £287 to Lindago without receiving 1 lesson in return and this does not concern them at... Read More

Honestly, more of a scam than a language school. They will not allow you to pause your studies! I have used other language platforms in the past and after paying for a language level, you can always pause your studies for 6 months, no questions asked. I have spent over a week requesting this and they: A). Don't seem to understand the concept B). Will cancel and take your money $499!!!)

The Lingoda marathon is a sham. Otherwise, the program is very effective. DON'T expect to get the refund. Upper management decided to disqualify me from the marathon based on something that wasn't my fault. They sent instructions in an email that went straight to my spam folder, and apparently that's binding? I KNOW they have data on whether or not emails have been clicked on. I work in digital advertising. This is a joke.

They closed my account even though I had about 1 month left and many classes scheduled, because I cancelled my Paypal subscription so I wouldn't get auto-billed.
