I was given a free two years because of the Capital One screw up having our information hacked. The information when I went to verify my account was wrong so it failed to activate. Called into TransUnion was on hold for 15mins, then was transferred to fix the issue. Was on hold for another 35 minutes then when they answered I was sent to the wrong department. I was given another number and after 40 minutes of being on hold I gave up. Worst experience with any company I cannot believe they even are able to stay in business. I even tried calling back the next day and same issue was on hold for over 30 mins so I gave up.

The website is absolutely the worst. Equifax and Experian work perfectly. TU needs to get a webmaster who knows what he’s doing. Basically said the site sucks.

Signed up for $9.95/ month monitoring yesterday. Had four charges of $9.95 applied to my checking account. Nearly impossible to get a human to resolve. Had to repeat my story three times to three different people. Still no resolve, no email confirmation of case, nothing. Cancelled service and intend on reviewing everywhere possible. Very shady, very poor service. Horrendous customer service.

I signed up for the free service a couple days ago, checked my report, and saw that a card of which I have been an authorized user for years does not show up. Yet the account has been showing on the other 2 bureaus for years. Other information was incorrect. So I tried to dispute. Got error when trying to dispute online. So I called. The representative asked for information regarding that credit card of which I am an authorized user to verify my identity. Ok. I dispute my birthdate because it is incorrect, but the birthdate showing on my supposed credit report in True Identity is not even the same as the birth date the representative claimed they have on file. Unacceptable! To top it off,... Read More

No way for me to contact anyone at true Identity for support. The login support website is useless. My login in screen is locked and has been since I tried to establish the account. I've never been able to login. The service seems to be a scam to get your information.

I signed up for this service that was recommended when running my annual free credit report thru TransUnion. Every time I try to process a request or even sign back in, I keep getting this error "We are experiencing heavy volumes due to the Equifax breach. Please try your request again later." I can't even sign into my account!

I have yet to find any customer support, there seems to be no way, phone, chat or email, to contact them to address problems. Unable to do credit lock AND unable to cancel membership. Will be contacting my States Attorney General this week to file a report.

I was trying to log into my TrueIdentity account and unlock the TransUnion credit report. TrueIdentity website has been down for existing members. No customer service number, no human contact. Unable to unlock the TransUnion Report, I'm unable to get a mortgage loan. Terrible service.

I received a free subscription through one of those breaches. However, when trying to login, I do not have the information. And when I go to find my login info, I get to the screen with social security number (which I submit a little nervously) and then it pops back to the same screen. No email for them, no phone, no people. What the heck. I am more nervous about my True Identity protection program than I am about future breaches!!!

Not impressed at all with this service compared to others. The only way to cancel is to call the toll free number, which I plan on doing today. They need a more extensive FAQs section. I paid for the $9.95 per moth option after having credit card fraud with a Citi Bank account. One of the options is called “Identity Alerts” and I have an alert that says “Name Change”. No where on the website does it give an explanation of what that is or means. Did someone try and change my name? We’re they successful? No explanation anywhere. I need to call to find out what that means. It’s too much of a hassle compared to other sites that Offer these services. Spend your money elsewhere.

I apparently already have an account with True Identity. When I type in that I have forgotten my username and password and I put in my social and last name, it tells me my security answer is wrong. I'm pretty sure I know which city I was born in!! This is ridiculous. Tried calling, never get anyone. This is a scam.

Tried to sign up. The system crashed. And crashed again. I called and Person #1: I can't find your account. I found your account. I need to ask you some questions. Put on hold. I can't find your account. You entered your activation code incorrectly. Try again and it will work. (It didn't.) Person #2: Your account didn't go through correctly. Here is another activation code to use. When I tried that, it said I already had an account so I couldn't make another one. Person #3: Seemed like he knew what he was talking about. The was the only one who did NOT ask me for my full SSN. Said I needed to email in copies of identification stuff: photo ID, utility bill, etc. Said... Read More

I tried to create an account and had tons of trouble doing it. Talked to two completely inept people on the phone (you can only reach them by phone; no chat, no email). Then a third person got my account straight. I was looking at the website under "lock my credit report". When you click there, it says "Locking your TransUnion Credit Report means that it will be: Unavailable for creditors, landlords & employers to view Inaccessible to lenders should you apply for credit" But if you click on "what is credit lock?" you see this contradictory information: "Creditors, lenders (when you apply for a loan), landlords and employers can request and view your credit report. Locking your... Read More

How did Consumer Advocate give this 4.5 out of 5 stars? I guess they got paid by Transunion. Transunion's website and services must have been designed by the low bid vendor- it is horrible. But at least the site and service don't involve anything important like credit history or identity protection - whoops, that is exactly what they supposedly offer! The differentiation between the Security Freeze and the True Identity (for a "credit lock") page is poor and confusing for the customer trying to protect his or her credit and / or identity. https://membership.trueidentity.com/tucm/login.page? - True Identity (credit lock) login - after logging in, the page freezes and no information... Worst company to deal with - This company is a fraud. Thier customers service persons are downright rude and obnoxius, they yell at you and call you stupid because you cannot understand their accent. Then they hang up the phone when you indicate you cannot understand them. Calling and ask for a manager results in a refusal and notification that there are no managers working in the company, followed by abuse and swearing and then they hang up. They are not there to help customers who pay a monthly fee, the company is ony about charging you a monthly fee and then not helping you access your account, They only want money = FRAUD!

Deplorable!!! We have wasted so many hours of productivity dealing with the incompetence of this highly bureaucratic organization. Their reports are riddle with errors that they seem incapable of correcting them. Their website is bad enough to give you an ulcer but their deplorable phone service takes the cake.

Customer service sucks! Unable to log in, just asking me to log in again, when asked about what time to log in, asked me to log in at a time when I was not able to log in. Support can't really provide a resolution. Customer support is saying my profile is fine without even asking about my identity. And even asked me if I want to de-activate my account. If there is 0 star I would put 0.
