We have a thirty year old roof we had a roofer come by roof looks bad have 5 shingles of ice and wind damage replacement of roof denied upon your score I hope your not using my credit score to base this on any told 500 dollars damage replace them yourself or we can decide not to allow you to be covered under us anymore well they just depreciated my property value they no longer carry the color of shingles anymore also the wood at our fireplace is wet my husband patched it the best he could , I was a realtor and one thing that brings to my mind is a buyer if sold depreciates your property if roofing doesn't match we now pay 1700 dollars a year over 30 years have had 3 claims my husband... I have been an AFI member for home insurance since 2005. My father was a long-time member and my son is a relative newcomer who joined at my suggestion. All was well until 2021 when my home insurance premium was raised considerably. I accepted the rate. I did have to file a claim when my hot water heater broke and I suffered significant water damage. I made the mistake of filing a claim. At renewal, my insurance went from $157 a month to $221 per month. AFI determined the cost to rebuild my 1800sq ft house in a modest neighborhood rose to 290,000. A $290,000 house in El Paso, TX is considered upscale in an upscale neighborhood.
