LifeEar CORE costs less than most traditional hearing aids of both inside-the-ear and behind-the-ear varieties. This is because customers buy their units directly from the company and program their unique specifications with their Android of iOS smart devices at home. LifeEar's product is appropriate for those with mild to moderately severe hearing loss. Some of the product's upsides are that it comes the great MDShield™ Protection Plan and a year's supply of batteries. Also, it is relatively inexpensive with the financing options that are available. The downside is that, although it is a convenient process, some users may want customized fitting services and ongoing adjustments from a hearing professional or audiologist. After-purchase support with LifeEar CORE is only available over the phone.

LifeEar's BOOST and ACTIVE personal amplification products are now marketed under the mantle of Empower Hearing Solutions. The company's CORE device (which we are covering here) is a behind the ear (BTE) hearing aid of the mini-BTE style. This type of device has the volume control, microphone, and speaker sitting in a small casing behind the ear. Sound is picked up and amplified through a tube that leads to a "ComfortTIP" that fits inside the ear. One of the standout features of this design is that the earpiece is less intrusive than most, allowing for airflow and unamplified background noise.
