Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

The KitchenAid KDTE334GPS is a robust machine, one guaranteed significantly longer than others in its class. Its appearance communicates this heavy duty function through design elements that include a very spare-looking steel front, a brawny, textured bar handle, and a rich-looking reflective interior. It's quieter than any other machine in its class, and almost as quiet as the quietest machines on the market today at any price. While it doesn't have as many wash options as some of its competitors, its very simplicity of operation and appearance are impressive in themselves.

KitchenAid KDTE334GPS Appearance

Quality - 4.5 / 5

The KitchenAid KDTE334GPS presents a heavy duty appearance, with a plain stainless front marked only by a tiny pilot light, hidden top controls, and a large towel bar-style handle that's subtly textured for a premium look and feel. The stainless steel front has a proprietary coating that resists fingerprints. The interior is made of a reflective stainless steel that draws light inside, which makes it easier to see what's there. Overall, the appearance is more robust and industrial than high-tech.

KitchenAid KDTE334GPS Performance & Features

Performance - 4.5 / 5

This dishwasher is exceptionally quiet, producing only 39 dB. By way of comparison, the quietest dishwashers currently being sold in the US produces 38 dB--and most of those cost considerably more. The unit has three racks, the top one being a shallow, flat rack suitable for laying utensils such as cooking spoons, kitchen knives, spatulas, and other similar objects. The middle rack (called the upper rack in some literature) is adjustable, allowing taller pots and plates to be washed below. The KitchenAid features an automatic cycle in which the dishwasher senses the soil level and adjusts the wash cycle accordingly. It also can be set to Express Wash, which cuts the wash time significantly. This model doesn't attempt to bowl customers over with numerous wash cycles and settings. Its calling cards are its robust construction, signature design, and its surprisingly quiet operation.

I have owned this model since 2019. This past year, months after the warranty ended, it began leaking underneath the machine. The sound-deadening access panel prevented us from noticing the leak until it began to damage/warp our wood floor. Then, made the poor decision to repair rather than replace. Within months of this repair, water is now leaking from the left corner of the door, and I can't find the correct replacement part/door seal.

After just 3yrs of use, this washer developed a slow leak beneath it, which caused thousands of dollars worth the damage to our kitchen floor and cabinets. Now, not only do I have to pay to get a new dishwasher, I am out $1k for an insurance deductible, AND I have to endure weeks of "mitigation" and construction in the middle of my kitchen. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KITCHENAID/WHIRLPOOL AS LONG AS I LIVE! Buyer beware.

Lasted just over 2 years, main spray motor failed and was over $625 for repairs. Will be replacing it with another brand. KitchenAid should stick with mixers! This dishwasher is not recommended at all!

This dishwasher has caused us no end of trouble! Ignore the high star rating. this is the worst appliance I've ever had . The fuse broke, the panel had to be replaced, the drain was stopped off and now the dishwasher turns off after five minutes

Steer clear of this dishwasher!!! I purchased a "good named" dishwasher because of their excellent history. However, my dishwasher WILL be 3 years old in late October. Last year, it started moaning---or as my family says, "mooing". Serviceman said it was okay and that it was just the inconvenience of it mooing. In April the front black panel broke----its currently being held on with electrical tape---or it would be a full control panel repair. THEN, the "sump pump" broke----leaking all over the floor. Had that replaced at 70% of the original value of the machine. Submitted my concerns to KitchenAid............fell on deaf ears...........obviously not the same quality as it... Read More

Bought this dishwasher in Oct 2018, and now we need a new motor - to the tune of $350 (it is a year and half old). I called Kitchen Aid to see what if anything could be done. NADA. I should have stuck with Miele - my bad. Wanted to continue buying American - love our Speed Queen washer/dryer (also American made). Only Kitchen Aid appliance I will every buy.

I purchased this dishwasher March of 2019. Although it is a good dishwasher, i have had a problem with it draining completely after a wash cycle. It will leave dirty water at the bottom, which means I have to manually press the "Cancel" button and hold for 3-seconds, to finish draining the last wash. It does not do this every wash load, but i would say about 4 out of 10 loads it does this. If we put a load in and leave for a few days, and it doesn't drain, when we come back and the smell is horrible! Before warranty expired, we had a factory technician come out and he checked the drains and they were all OK. I ask if it could be in the programming of the cycle, he replied he did... Read More

The model 334 does a great job of cleaning dishes, pots and pans. It's a solid machine, well designed and built, that does its work efficiently. Plus it's very quiet. Ignore the trolls, since 90% of their complaints are covered by manufacture warranty (five years on racks)...which they'd know if they really owned this model.

I had a Kitchenaid dishwasher for 11 years. Never a problem. My kitchen sink overflowed and ruined the control panel so I just replaced DW. To repair control panel wasn't worth it. I bought the 334 model a few days ago. What concerns me is leftover condensation on back panel after drying cycle. I have to open door for rear panel to dry. Also red light came on near end (4 hours!). This was normal cycle. Previous washer 1-1/2 hours. Also manual filter concerns me. Previous DW had automatic filter. Never had to clean filter for 11 years! Now I may have to do 1x a year. Disappointed reading negative reviews. Will update opinion in 6 months. A. Duffy, Montclair, NJ
