This Jitterbug2 Smart Phone is not for seniors, especially since a senior gave it to me! She couldn't work it and I can't block numbers or texts on it. I'm having other issues with it as well, for it seems to have a mind of its own when I'm trying to text or call someone. I find this phone very useless and there is not one written direction, online, with the service or in the manual regarding blocking phone numbers. If there is, it is unclear directions or simply does not apply to this particular phone. I AM SO GLAD IT WAS GIVEN TO ME AND I DIDN'T PURCHASE IT FOR IT IS A WASTE!!!
I've had and used Cell phones since 2006. I have had two other cell phones, an Apple and Samsung. Both very good. I'd heard about the Jitterbug and how it's good for seniors. As it turned out I was gifted the Jitterbug 2 in late February 2021. Nothing about this phone has worked. Because of personal challenges in my life I kept thinking it was me and that I'd figure it out when I had the time. Well, I've had the time in the last couple months to work on the phone. It doesn't work. This "seniors" phone is advertised to be all about simplicity, that is, as being easier for we elders. If one is thinking about the health package why bother. Everybody else has a cell and I'm... Read More

How can I get the phone number to Greatcall jitterbug service plan
Worst trash ever. We bought a jitterbug 2 in October 2020 have never been able to activate it. Numerous phone calls and talks with great call help desk still no activation. Finally we were advised send every thing back and they would activate that phone or replace it and send us an activated phone. So following their instructions we sent the phone back in the original box with all the manuals receipt etc.
We got back just a phone three weeks later and still can't get it activated. Throwing away the POS and eating the $160 loss for the phone.
The Jitterbug Smart 2 is a simple to use cell phone for seniors. Their plans are expensive! There are no safe guards to let you know when you are out of minutes or data. They continue to let you make calls and/or use data services but then you get a massive add on to your bill! Like $ 94. on top of monthly fee!! Totally unfair to seniors!! When seniors try to call customer service they are met by someone who is not really explaining the problem but just wanting to upsell your plan i.e. " you have gone over your plan minutes but if you increase your plan right now, it will erase your overage and you won't have to pay the $94. You only have til 6 pm today" I don't like the way they handle... Read More
Awful phone. Do not buy. If you forget your pin there is no way to reset it except to call. Service asked for gmail account phone was originally activated with. Owner never gave a Gmail nor does she have one. They said they would send new phone but in the meantime a senior with health issues who lives alone is without a phone and is paying for the health emergency service. When phone was first received it had many unknown calls and text messages and it said it already had a gmail account and a different phone number than requested. This leads one to believe that this was a previously used phone that was not factory restored and was passed off at full price. Don’t know how great call... Read More
These people have been a nightmare to deal with, and the phone is crap. Mine has been replaced twice and it still doesn't work. I haven't been able to take photos for months. The service rep just told me that the photo feature is "not something I pay for"?!?! Another rep told me it was a software issue and they were looking into it. This was 3 months ago. Another issue: When I call anyone, my number shows up with someone else's name. A different rep told me that that person owns that number and they couldn't do anything about it. Unbelievable. As soon as the quarantine lifts, I'm gonna have to go phone shopping. I have no choice. Dealing with Greatcall Jitterbug has been one of the most... Read More
Got for my mother. Never used because no signal for the 6 days. Returned. Got billed on the 8th day for full month. Sad service for the seniors!
Need more volume!!!
Absolutely need to have easy way to Block unwanted calls, especially since seniors are easy targets for scammers!!!!
I would like to know if this smartphone 2 can back itself up on iCloud??
My sister purchased the Jitterbug Flip phone for my 92 year old Mom that is staying with me because the Sprint Flip phone she had was cutting out mid conversation. The good, It works and doesn’t cut-out. Support does answer (Just can’t fix the problems). Screen is bigger (not a lot) CHARGING KEEPS EVERYONE AWAKE When the phone is put on the charger it beeps when it is fully charged, then again every few minutes until you take off the charger! My mom is old and sometimes hears it and thinks it rang, answers it and since she can’t real well it takes a minute to figure out no one is there. So the phone can’t be put on the charger when going to bed, and often runs out of battery because... Read More
MY SON WHO HAS CEREBRAL PALSY HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO USE HI8S PHONE SINCE HE GOT IT A MONTH AGO. VERY DISAPPOINTING. MY RATING IS 00000 MARGARET JOHNSON BENTON ILLINOIS
I cannot keep my "contacts." They keep disappearing. I touch the "Contacts" button and all I get is a black screen.
I have called customer support 3 times about this issue. I'm about ready to cancel this deal and go back to US Cellular.
My Gboard keeps stopping what have i dont? Please need to get up & going again
The Jitterbug Smart phone is the biggest waste of time for seniors. I bought this phone for my mother and it is so difficult for her to use. It isn’t intuitive and it’s cumbersome to do even the simplest function. She has no trouble understanding my IPhone.
Billing and technical support is lacking! Don’t make this costly mistake!
When I hit the 5* in error I always answered when they called to let them know it was not an emergency. Now that "cancel" has been added to the phone it is so helpful. Great Move for GreatCall!!
Sometimes when I scroll down on my Jitterbug Smart2 I accidently push the Call 5* button. I believe that the button is not in the right location. Is there a way to lock that button so I won't push it.
I do a great deal of texting my present cell I am paying extra I talk a lot to my 4 grannie and to my great so what plan do you have I would like to keep my same number as I have had it for years, I need internet I need gmail, I do a lot of searching menu decorating ideal I use my cell a lot I am paying 64.00 a month help
I think I could love this phone except for: the battery doesn't even last 4 hours (I was told that was because I was on wi-fi), it is not acceptable to call-forwarding, and the volume could certainly be louder if it's designed for seniors. I must say, customer service is great.
Just got the smartphone 2. The smartphone was so much easier to use. Very disappointed. You need to tell everyone that you cannot text more than one person at a time. I was told there was a work around, but it is way too complicated. Also, people need to realize that if they lose their phone, they have lost practically everything and they have to start over.
I wanted a little more volume. My hearing is great and I can barely hear this phone. My husband who is hard of hearing can't hear it at all. I have now canceled our phone.
I hate this phone. I had a touch3 phone and got the smart phone2 because the touch3 would no longer text pictures. I called support and they said it wasn’t capable of doing that.it did it just fine for the first 3 years. So I got a Smartphone2. What a mistake. I was told that blocking numbers was tricky and they don’t recommend doing that on the Smartphone2. Now I get 2 to 5 robo calls a day. I could block a call in 10 seconds on Touch3. My texts disappear after two days. My texts didn’t disappear unless I deleted them on the Touch3. Is it possible you might want to keep a text longer than 2 days. Don’t get the Smartphone2 from Greatcall. It is a piece of junk. I am going to bite the... Read More
I have had my Smart2 for a couple of months. Still lots to learn. Kind of wish I had kept my flip phone. I called 911 by mistake last night. Of course they wanted to send help, I insisted it was a mistake, didn't know how it happened. Told the lady I had a new phone and didn't know what I did. Finally realized I must have hit the 5star button while taking a picture. I called Greatcall, said I didn't think it would work without paying extra. It does. I asked if it could be turned off, now I am afraid of my phone. No it can't be turned off!
Very disappointed in my Jitterbug Smart2. I had the Jitterbug Smartphone and the advertisements said the Smart2 was so much better. So I purchased one. Now with my Smartphone2 90% of my calls are disconnected. I was also told that all my data from my old phone would be transferred to my new phone, not. They also told me it is the phone service (Verizon) is the reason I am having problems. I never had problems with Verizon with my old phone. A few times when I called Great Calls they didn't know the answer so my phone call was transferred and I was disconnected.
I have had this phone for two months. I am very disappointed. The carrier, Great Call, is a hit or miss when you call support. When you tell them that you are going to transfer carriers they then transfer you to someone in tech support that knows what they're doing. The Bluetooth connect to the car, sometimes. I've tried turning the phone off and resetting, used the car's app to reset and sometimes it works, sometimes not. The phone frequently disconnects while in the car using music, audio books, phone or maps. It also disconnects in the house when the phone is not even in the same room. No pets are near it, no human is near it. Then one hears a message; "because you subscription... Read More
