Overall Rating: 3.9 / 5 (Very good)

Geico offers consumers a great option for boat insurance, with complete policy packages that are easily customizable on the company's simple online quote tool. Several discounts are available, including a discount for bundling multiple policies. The company has 24/7 claims service, as well as a mobile app that lets customers request roadside assistance and pay their premiums. Geico also has excellent financial outlook ratings from the country's top credit rating agencies. Although their online customer reviews leave much to be desired, that's not uncommon for large insurers such as Geico. All in all, the company delivers a boat insurance solution worth considering, especially for consumers looking speed and convenience.

Geico Coverage & Benefits

Coverage & Benefits - 4.5 / 5

Geico offers comprehensive boat insurance policy options that allow consumers to choose between premier, value, or liability-only coverages. Policies are customizable, allowing prospective customers to modify the coverage amounts they desire. A large number of boat types are covered, yet less than a handful of discounts appear to be available, those for having a good boating record, taking a boat safety course, and bundling multiple policies with Geico. It is unclear whether the company offers comprehensive and collision coverages.

Geico Financial Strength & Reputation

Financial Strength & Reputation - 3.5 / 5

Geico, formerly known as the Government Employees Insurance Company, was founded in 1939 and, as the name suggests, was intended to insure government workers. Nowadays, it's services are not limited to that sector. Geico has an A+ with the Better Business Bureau, with mostly negative customer reviews on the organization's webpage. However, none seem to address the company's boat insurance product. Geico holds excellent ratings from all major U.S. credit rating agencies.

If you are thinking about using Geico for your boat insurance company or Boat US for towing insurance please stay away from both. Worst possible companies out there. Will not have anyone to help with tows when you need one and will cancel your policy if you try to file a claim ( My boat was in the Lahaina fires in Hawaii) I would give them no stars if that were possible

I had had Geico Since 2013. File 1st claim for theft and 10 months later, have gone through 7 different adjusters and Each adjuster keeps asking for same info and i have proof in emails that i have sent info mulitiple times. I have photos of thief in action and they just do not want to pay claim out. Geico is in business to take yoyr money and not pay out hoping you give up. Their adjusters are trained to deny your claim and ware you out. DO NIT GET THIS INSURANCE. Warren Buffet spends our premiums on commercials and definitely not on paying claims!

Had an excellent experience with Geico. I was insured for five years and our boat was struck by lightning. We lost all electronics and they replaced them all. Claim took about four months to resolve but it was also for about $40,000. Very happy with the service that we received.

I have been with Geico for over 5 years. Now that I have a claim these clowns have drug this on for 6 weeks and counting. I call each week they tell me they need a new document. I submit it and then next week its another document. They asked for the bill of sale I told them I didnt have one but I gave them a copy of the title. Still not good enough. I would not ensure a thing with Geico.

After eighteen years with Boat US/ Geico I had my first claim which was denied because damage caused by overheating is not covered. One year old impellar was blocked while backing off trailer and powering through mud/goo at ramp. They say insufficient evidence of root cause. I will be leaving and would suggest anyone expecting actual coverage to do the same.
