Chase Bank has a large variety of personal banking accounts, ensuring that every customer will find the account that fits his or her needs. Likewise, the company's decades of experience in the banking industry means they will be able to offer a more seamless experience for its customers. Customers who are looking for a traditional bank will find much to like about Chase. Consumers who are looking for fewer fees and accounts with higher APYs may look elsewhere.

Chase General Banking Services

Availability/Customer Service - 4.5 / 5

As one of the four largest banks in the U.S., Chase offers multiple personal banking products. For savings, they have the Savings account and the Premier Savings account. The difference lies in the APY, which is higher in the Premier account, depending on the customer's balance, and the minimum opening deposit amount, which is higher in the Premier account. As such, this account is geared towards customers with higher balances. Both accounts have monthly maintenance fees, which can be avoided if the account maintains a specific balance. As for checking, there are three products available: Chase Total Checking, Chase Premier Plus Checking, and Chase Sapphire Checking. Again, the difference between the accounts is in the features, such as the higher end accounts being interest-earning, and a series of fees being waved with these accounts. The differences are many, so consumers should visit Chase's website and see the comparison for themselves. But it's evident that there is a checking and savings product for everyone.

Chase Financial Strength and Reputation

Financial Strength - 4.9 / 5

Chase Bank, a subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase, is one of the four largest banks in the United States. It holds excellent financial ratings from two of the top bond rating agencies in the world, serving as evidence of the stability of its finances and its ability to meet future obligations. As for customer sentiment, the company is rated F by the Better Business Bureau. However, it appears this rating is due to the company's failure to respond to customer complaints posted on the site. Additionally, the large number of complaints is not unusual or unexpected for a company as large as Chase. Therefore, these metrics should be interpreted conservatively.

Chase Bank stole my money. I proved it and they still won't return it. Wells Fargo is way better than Chase.

I had inheritance that I split between 2 banks, Chase had part of it. It stayed there for about a decade. I moved out of state - wasn't getting statements because my address change did not go through. I LITERALLY have tried to get my address changed for more than a year. Phone calls, emails, forms, I was even eventually was told the fastest way to get it done is to go to a local Chase bank. I drove 30 miles to do that, sat for almost 1/2 hour while it was being done, I even got checks printed to go with me, with my new address! I am now purchasing real estate with this money, need money wired. I explain this to my "customer care" person, he said it takes up to 2 days to sell my positions.... Read More

DO NOT APPLY FOR A MORTGAGE OR REFINANCE WITH CHASE if one is taking care of a senior citizen, has had hardship in this economy and things got away from them. Chase engages in a CATCH 22 to DENIAL. What will be your CATCH 22 to DENIAL with Chase - will the actual denial be disclosed? In my case I had been taking care of my girlfriends medical and incidentals for a couple of decades, the house needed work, but she finally got Social Security and Medicare. Part of the debt I was intending to shed included replacing the roof, a sliding glass door, fixing the deck that came loose from the house and removing several large oaks including one that fell on the house, so with Chase I was... Ever since switching to Chase, I've had a better experience managing my financial health and well-being. Between their credit card offerings and their wonderful customer service, I'm glad I made the transition.

25000 Wire sent September 28 2018 from Spain still not found with several requests to Chase to find the money. The sender bank has sent updates to Chase to try to get the money into my business account. I have filed several written complaints without respectful response or concern I am a living breathing existence who deserves to be treated with the utmost respect. Chase will do whatever Chase pleases no care to anything. 8 accounts shut down and or set to shut down without warning in good standing after many many years with Chase at the same time the $25000 went missing. Still the attitude is so what Chase will do whatever Chase pleases to long term clients or anyone. My daughter's... Read More
