Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5 (Very good)

GM Financial boasts an A+ rating from the BBB, as well as accreditation. Their simple and secure online application allows buyers to apply for credit and send the information to the GM dealer of their choice, which makes buying and financing a GM vehicle easier. However, there's little information online about loan application requirements and APRs offered, which means buyers are unable to predict if they will be approved or if the loan offer will be acceptable.

GM Financial has a secure online credit application which also submits the information to the dealership chosen by the buyer. GM Financial Reputation & Reviews

Reputation - 3.5 / 5

GM Financial has an excellent business reputation. They are accredited by the BBB and enjoy an A+ rating, despite 62 negative reviews. A survey of online comments reveals most complaints revolve around poor customer service. However, financial analysis company IHS Markit says GM Financial led in manufacturer loyalty among captive lenders in 2016. This means people who had leased GM vehicles are more likely to lease another car with GM Financial.

My lease ended 6/14/19. I returned the car on 5/18. I called GM financial 3 times to ask for the final bill for disposition fee and wear and tear. Each time i was told to wait for the final bill. Today i have a report from my credit score that i was late on the lease termination payment and my score went down 102 points. This amount never show up on the online account. I call GM financial after 15 try then i get thru someone. She said no bill you just have to pay the disposition fee based on your contract. The contract shows $495 and i owe $538.31 because they add tax to it. I said i dont know the tax or whether there is any wear and tear. I also file a complaint with the Better Business... Read More

Awful company to deal with! My vehicle was totaled in June 2018 from a hail storm. They received 2 pay off checks, 1 from my auto insurance and the other from my gap insurance, but for a year now they have been using the checks to make MONTHLY payments instead of paying off my account! Each time I have called to correct this I am told "we have escalated this email, someone will call you back in 3 business days" yet I never receive a call. Of course when I call back they say per the notes someone called me, LIARS! Never have I received a call or voicemail on either one of my cell phones! To top it off they have sent me 3 CREDIT checks as my account showed a credit, the first 2 I deposited... Read More

In July of 2018 my husband and I were shopping around for vehicles and presented to the Chevrolet dealership in Winter Haven, FL to get some information about their trucks. After weeks of negotiating a monthly payment for a car, we came to an agreement on July 30th (dealers always try to make deals towards the end of the month to meet their quota). My husband and I wanted to put the new vehicle in both of our names and after the dealer ran my credit, I was made aware of a new account on my credit that Audi Financial Services failed to inform me of, from my previously leased vehicle that was turned in on February 2018– wear and tear fees for a car that was turned in below mileage with no... I am not kidding, WORST and DISASTER COMPANY I have ever seen around the world. (I have been almost over 20 countries including Australia, UK, Dubai, Germany) and this is the most stupid company I have ever seen. You may read the all comment and reviews about GM financial. It was my fault and if I know it before I will never ever select GM Financial. I will never ever recommend GM FINANCIAL for anyone who is living in America and looking for service. If anyone need more info, I can share all chat what I have done with GM financial customer service. They are really Stupid and disaster,

The worst customer service experience EVER in America. Their customer service department is unresponsive, and if you communicate with 10 people you will get 10 different answers. I paid off my Car before 24 months. And trying to get my title. They asked FEDEX account. I created FedEx account and provided them. Even though I setup everything they need 5 Days to ship. Are you expecting like this service?? This is not the only one issue, from the beginning their service is disaster. I am not kidding or joking, I am 100% responsible what I am typing here. I will never EVER go to these guys until I die. Worst experience in my life.

Buyer beware, please do your homework before taking a lease with this company. My mother passed away with only driving her truck less than 200 miles. We tried working with the dealership and GM to return this vehicle. We were told different things each time we tried to resolve this issue, and continued to make payments. We spoke with GM for months waiting for the truck to go a sale. After 5 months the truck was “grounded “ then went to a sale. We were then sent a letter stating we still owed $3000. We went to the BBB and they were not able to resolve the issue either. A letter was sent, stating GM would not at this require payment from us. All we asked for is an apology and written notice... Don't use this company, and don't purchase a GM vehicle. We had always purchased Ford vehicles, prior to purchasing a Suburban. GM Financial is requiring that we have a $1,000 deductible on our insurance policy. We have over 100 vehicles insured with a $2,500 deductible. GM is not willing to make an exception. Maybe the Government should not have given them and exception in 2009 and let them go under. This should be easy, but it is not.
