THE HOME DEPOT® currently stands as one of the strongest competitors in the appliance repair industry. Strong reputation online further strengthens the company's position, which offsets the company's more negative customer experience. THE HOME DEPOT® Customer Service and Reputation

Customer Service/Reputation - 5 / 5

THE HOME DEPOT® opened its doors in 1978. The company's reputation online is excellent, being BBB accredited while holding an A rating with the bureau. On the other hand, customer feedback is considerably low by comparison, owing to a sizable number of negative reviews and a bad 1.9 Trustpilot score. Bought a LG refrigerator in April. Its not cooling properly. Food is frozen in the back, not cooling in the front. I tried calling for a repair but that was a waste of time. Either I get someone trying to sell me parts or sell me an extended warrantee. I should have known not to buy anything from this circus.

Bought a new LG refrigerator and talked into getting the extended warranty almost 2 years ago. Now the fridge (including the freezer), no longer cools and making a horrible sound. Their "first available", is over 3 weeks out. I escalated to the operations manager, still, no luck. So... basically, we are going thru the manufactures warranty service. Seems I paid $250 for the warranty that will cover up to $200 in lost food... That's it. Home Depot has really let me down on this one (and I've always preferred Home Depot to their competitor. Certainly re-thinking that.)

The product repair was requested on July 31st, a gentleman came very quickly August 2nd. He did not have the part on his truck, so ordered it to my home. It did not come in the 3-5 business days, I called in and it seems he ordered it to the wrong place... The gentlemen is now scheduled to come back on the 16th of august to repair it... I wish i never purchased this plan, 17 days for a washing machine repair is ridiculous if i could have just spent the same amount of money on a repair man, rather than the policy, it would not have taken such a long and protracted period as it did. Home depot helped in no way, nor afforded any remuneration for the excessively long wait time.

Purchased a GE washer at home depot with a 5 year warranty - the washer has failed - two repair tech were sent ... they claimed the washer was fixed ... same problem continued and they refused to resolve the issue claiming repair men have been sent and there is no problem. UNACCEPTABLE!

My LG refrigerator which was purchased in September of 2017 stopped working on 5/12/2019 which is 20 months after we paid about $2,000.00 for this french door, stainless steel refrigerator. As of this writing we still cannot get a repair person to show up. Two appointments have been cancelled due to the technician being sick (apparently they only have one technician) I will never shop at Home. depot, buy and LG appliance and purchase an extended warranty thru them. As of now, we have an appointment for 5/21/2019 . We are praying someone will show up. The manager at HD location did send a loner and he has been very nice, but apparently he has no pull with the repair service.... Read More

We bought all new appliances from Home Depot 4 years ago for over $3000, spent another $500 for the 5 yr extended warranty. 3 1/2 years later, my dishwasher is not getting the top rack clean. I filed a claim on 11/5/18, it took them almost 2 months and multiple angry phone calls from me just to get someone here to look at. Now here it is, almost 5 months later...I've had to make myself available 5 times so far, 4 different techs have been here...and it still isn't fixed...even though the Home Depot salesman promised if they couldn't fix it in 3 visits that they would replace it. 4 1/2 months have passed and I'm still having to deal with it :(

I have no complaint about the water heater that was used to replace the one which gave out. I have no complaint about the Home Depot staff, the Installer, or the speed with which the service was performed. But I do have a complaint about the contractor Home Depot uses to setup the REPAir. The contractor fast talked me through a price, then switched the price on me right before I signed the electronic form. The cost was right about $200 more than the cost I agreed to. Plus, there was no paper work given to me at the time of service, even though I requested it. I was told, it would be sent to me. I had to wait two days to get a bunch of forms, but NO detailed itemized costs! It was just the... Read More

I bought the 5 year protection warranty coverage for my stainless Whirlpool dishwasher. The dishwasher began to rust around the top of the cpontrol panel by control button.s Home Depot doesn't cover this problem. So that part of the warranty is useless. and I suspect I will find other parts not covered also. The warranty itself cost nearly one quarter of the product. CAN YOU SAY RIPOFF?
