Sesame Solar is a US-based solar electricity provider founded in 2017 and based out of Jackson, Michigan. The company’s mobile nanogrids are used by the U.S. Air Force, major telecommunication companies and emergency response organizations to meet essential services and emergency response needs across a variety of scenarios such as medical centers, water filtration and communication services.

Services and Features

The company manufactures mobile nanogrids that generate clean off-grid power and are shipped ready-to-use. Sesame Solar claims one person can set up one of these devices with very little training to start generating clean energy in 15 minutes.

These nanogrids produce clean energy by making hydrogen gas out of solar power through electrolysis of water and storing it to fuel a hydrogen fuel cell, with the only byproduct being oxygen. The units can produce 3-20 kw of solar power, with the battery storage being 15-150 kilowatt hours in total.

Plan Details

Since Sesame Solar is primarily targeting this product for institutions to use in emergency situations, the product is not marketed towards households for individual use. Sesame Solar nanogrids cost per unit is between $100,000 and $300,000, with a lifespan of about 20 years.
