Our Home Depot windows were supposed to be installed within 2 months - it took over 7 months! They mis-measured, sent them to the wrong warehouse, incorrectly told me they would qualify for an Energy Trust rebate and did not return phone calls. Their HQ in Atlanta blames the local store (Beaverton, Oregon) and the local store blames Atlanta. When THEY goof, they don’t expedite your order; your order and install date goes back to the end of the line. Go elsewhere!
It has been almost around three years since replacement. The sliding door is leaking, the original contractors are gone , and now there is an issue of finding who will fix the problem. No one seems in a rush to fix and I would never recommend Home Depot to anyone! Save your money, get someone else! Terrible product, support, and instillation!!
How can one rate a business who hires third parties for installation a rating? The rating is 0 stars. My windows leak and they're unable to contact their 3rd party to fix the issue. They're(Home Depot) call center don't have any process for warranty complaints. AKA Lifetime warranty.. Awful business model! Would strongly recommend finding a local contractor yourself.
American Craftsman vinyl dual pane select style new window is a great product and very manageable for a DIY project.

I ordered windows from Home Depot in December of 2020. In february of 2021 the windows were installed without a hitch. I love my windows.
The only thing I do not like is paying for everything upfront. I have read a lot of comments and the anger is, windows did not fit. There wouldnt be anger if people hadnt paid for 100% up front. You pay that, then your stuck waiting for the replacement. That wasnt my situation.
Do not use Home Depot for Andersen Windows. We ordered fibrex windows for our home. 54 windows in total with a quote of 8-12 weeks until installation. On week 11, Home Depot called to tell us 13 windows could not be produced by Andersen under Series 100 and those windows had to be upgraded to series 400 and we would have to wait until 15 weeks making the time from Home Depot sold us windows until install a total of 26 weeks. And the price went up too. Awful....they don't have the presale process on what the supplier can provide perfected. Neighbors also had a terrible experience on their install. AVOID
If you are looking to purchase replacement windows and/or doors for your home...stay clear of Home Depot. A salesperson came to the house to provide an estimate. The salesperson was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable...had no problems there. They were even able to match and beat a competitor's price. I was also sold on the fact that Home Depot offers a lifetime warranty, is a major company that has been around for decades, and wants your continued business...In other words, Home Depot will "do right" by me. We ordered a house full of replacement windows in May of 2021. It is now December of 2022 in the project has finally been finished. It has been one headache after for a year and a half. I would never ever use Home Depot for a project again!! They have no communication, no follow-through, inconsistent work, and lots of broken promises. We literally talked with or worked with more than a half dozen people. Only one guy was consistent in calling us back, and that wasn't until later in the process. Window replacements are junk. I have had zero luck with the window replacements Home Depot sells. They were defective after only 2 years. When getting replacements for the replacements they came defective from the factory so another re-order. Taking 8 to 10 weeks to re-order the 3rd set. COVID is not the issue, it is the defective windows being manufactured then installed by gosh who knows who that HD has hired. The regional manager has lied to us numerous times saying he wants to come and take a look at the problem, then is a no show or call back with explanation as to why he didn't even show up!! Don't buy from Home Depot. Waited 7 months excuse after excuse. Finaly came 7/5/22 & only a partial. Waiting on big picture window, did not arrive yet. My thinking it was broken in transport. Installers chipped 2 windows when putting them in. Called Corp. Headquarter to complain & Home depot window department never called back. Might have to get a lawyer just to fix warranty windows. Never buy Home Depot again.
Don't buy windows from Home depot! We purchased Milgard windows in August 2021. Wasn't installed till January 2022. Two screens for our front window was missing. The guys that installed the windows didn't tell us that they was missing. They also cracked and chipped the Harding siding on another window, that we paid to have the out door window trim replaced when they installed the new window, do to water rot. They just tried to fill it with window chalk. They just cleaned up and left. And bugs was coming in the house. Go somewhere else for your windows . I have been banging my head against a rock for almost a year and still have an incomplete install . Siminton windows suck . Home Depot install dept. measured my windows wrong . They broke a window during install . The windows leaked air . My curtains were actually blowing inside my house . Their solution was to caulk . I am still waiting for broken window replacement. They scheduled then canceled 10 minutes before install . GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR WINDOWS . And then if you get angry they just hang up on you . They don’t care once they get their money . I see now why they collect their money first ..
The issue is calling the warranty department. You get NO WHERE. You call about an issue and they don't call you back. When they do come to check out the issue, they tell me there is no issue. Now I have a rotting window with soft moist wood. No ONE calls back from the warranty department. I call everyday and everyday I am told someone will call. NO CALL.
I ordered 14 Anderson windows and 4 patio doors, It's been a year and a half and I still am missing 3 screen for my doors and one window was ordered with the wrong orientation (twice) so I still don't have the correct window. I spent $28K. The install job is not what I was expecting. For the doors they measured so imprecisely that there was over 5 inches of space between the door and the top that they tried to throw trim on to make it look decent. I had to have another contractor fix this for 3 doors. All the windows don't fit well so they put this trim on the inside of all windows, many screws are missing. This project is a disaster. Ordered in August. Scheduled 11/22. Installers showed up at 1pm started at 2, and finished at 4 with only 4 of the 6 windows partly installed. In the process, they have damaged my walls, window frames (inside) and then demanded we be flexible with them and allow them to return on Thanksgiving or Friday. Now we are prisoners and have to forfeit our holiday because of this incompetency.
We ordered one double window replacement the first of May. In June, the install was cancelled 45 minutes before the appointment through a text message, windows weren’t in. Windows arrived with a broken sash.told in July the sash was on order and they were getting a status. Found out in September the sash had not been ordered at all. It’s now the end of November….have been told for a week the sash is on a truck but no one knows where it is. Not sure whether to just cancel at this point or not. The frustration has been horrible and communication is awful, will never do anything with them again.
I ordered windows and paid a 25% deposit. It has been on scheduling nightmare after another. After wasting a lot of my time and not showing up on 2 different scheduled install dates, finally cancelled my order and got my deposit back. There is a a huge disconnect between the sales people , the scheduling department, and the many sub contactors that they hire to do their installs. No one knows what's going on, I dealt with 3 managers of different departments and they still couldn't get it right. HOME DEPOT ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMER ON EARTH. I ORDERED 12 WINDOWS FOR MY HOUSE THAT AMMOUNTED TO ALMOST 18G . THE SALES PERSON SHOWED ME TOP OF THE LINE WINDOWS BUT WHEN THE WINDOWS CAME IN A YEAR LATER THEY LOOKED HORRIBLE AND FULL OF DEFECTS ( ANDERSON 400 SERIES) AND NOT THE SAME WINDOWS I WAS SHOWEN WHEN THEIR SALESMAN SHOWED UP TO MY HOUSE. IN ADDITION THEIR INSTALLER WANTED TO RIP OFF ALL MY NEW SIDING AND HE WILL NOT GARANTY EVERYTHING WILL GO BACK IN PLACE. Several years ago I had home depot install windows in many rooms. They used Farley windows. One by one, each of the windows has lost its seal and fogged up. The windows are "lifetime" warranty. Farley windows will not communicate with customs directly and require you to go through home depot. Its been 14 months of calling home depot customer service and then going and wasting time standing in the home depot windows/doors department and no one there cares to help. Home depot does not care and there is no mechanism to get any help. There is no place where a complaint can be made either.
Unfortunately, we have been waiting over 6 months to get documentation from Home Depot with details of our Window Installation project and we have still not heard back from the Sales Manager. In addition, now we need to utilize the Warranty because one of the windows is malfunctioning and isn't closing or locking and we have no idea who to contact.
Not completely finish the installation project. I have called Home Depot several times about their unfinished project. I was transferred and transferred and then told that some one will contact me, but no one contacted me. The window exteriors have been open for bugs, dirt and rain for two months.
How is their rating 5 stars when there are so many complaints?? We ordered windows in February and the installer came out in April just to say that they ordered incorrect sizes. No call from HD since. I have tried calling twice but no return calls. I will get an attorney if I need just so we can get our $2200 deposit back!
Ordered windows and patio doors in September. Windows and doors were installed in January. We are almost in May and I have still not received the screens or the locks for the patio doors. The worst part of that is I call and leave messages and no one gets back to me.
New Windows from Home Depot was the worst experience, No Service or call backs. took 6 months to get & I'm still missing a screen. DONT USE THEM!
We paid to have new windows in November of 2020, its mid March of 2021 and we are still waiting for our windows to be installed. Our house is less than 900 sq ft so there aren’t that many windows. I feel Home Depot ripped us off after we signed the contract 🤬
