Services and Features
Alside has 3 major types of window products; vinyl, aluminium and wood. Wood windows are effective insulators but can be difficult to maintain due to constant exposure to the elements. It also requires caulking and painting.

We purchased the Alside UltraMaxx windows for our home because it was the highest quality window they offered at that time. We have had to replace nearly if not all sashes due to leaking seals which leaves permanent streaks on the glass.
The Warranty Dept. has not responded to my written on line request form, will not answer the phone and will not return my calls. I give them a one star rating because it is the worst rating I can give them on this page. They deserve a negative five stars! Very poor quality, shop smart.
I am extremely unhappy with Alside's Warranty Department. We made an online claim in March 2018 for a warranty issue on a window in our home. We cannot get anyone to call us or email us back. I have called the phone number and sat on hold for hours and no one ever picks up. I left my number for a call back and have never received a call back.
When this posts it says I am in Colorado however I am in Idaho...
I contacted Alside for a window replacement over a year ago and they will not respond. Never again!
We had our windows replaced by a professional contractor in 2012 and in May 2018 noticed that 2 of the top of the line Liberty III triple pane units were showing stains and dirt on the inner glass surfaces. Per warranty instructions submitted claim for services in writing. After 3 weeks with no response I also submitted a inquiry from their website link. It has been 1 month and no responses to either inquiry. Customer service appears to be an oxymoron for this company - I would caution anyone who is considering purchasing their inferior products.
We bought these windows for the whole house about 11 years ago. In the last 5 years these windows have started to fail. The seal is apparently defective as the inside of the double pane is getting a brown film especially near the grills. About 2 months ago I called for another replace for a failed window. After picking it up from the distributor, I opened it when I got home and found just the glass. It was not mounted in a frame. I called Alside and was told these windows were discontinued. Alside "lifetime warranty" is a joke - they will do nothing but waste your time. Do NOT waste your money on these windows.
New construction home is ten years old and five windows have all had seal failures, these windows started failing immediately. The company's warranty states that it covers this build quality issue, however when you try to get them to replace them they claim the windows are prorated and they charge you for the replacement. Inferior quality, poor construction, bogus warranty. stay away from this company its not worth having to start replacing windows every few years.

We bought a house with Alside replacement windows in it and have had nothing but a horrible experience trying to find parts thru them. I have called at least 4 times and each time they say they will call me back with a response and I get NOTHING!!!
Windows are ok. Just better hope you don't have to make a valid claim.
I was very disappointed in my Alside Mezzo windows we had 22 replacement from day one had to have somebody come out and repair the seals in the windows. They're still leaking air. Very disappointed in the quality of the windows. Would not recommend or purchase these again.
We have Alside windows in our NEW home. They are poor quality windows. None of them slide smoothly and will bind when sliding. Because of that you must use two hands to operate the windows (both large and small windows). When flipping the locking mechanism the frame deflects indicating weak frame structure. Aside from the quality, the warranty service is atrocious. We have been waiting for over 9 months for our rear sliding door to be repaired properly. Let's get these Alside Warranty Department issue resolved people because I will cancel my additional order placed today if I don't see results by Wednesday because of these reviews. I really want to keep my order but this is really bad
For the first ten years we had no issues with our Alside replacement windows. No problem as the warranty was for life and they sent us the whole window as a replacement for the broken glass seal. However Alside will only send you the glass now.. It is up to the consumer to find a local vendor to open your window frame and replace the glass. The cost is reasonable $50 per window, however, you must pick a nice day as you will be without a window for a day. I called customer service and was quickly told it wasn't Alside problem and without 3 minutes the customer service rep hung the phone up on me. His last comment to me was "read your warranty". We had 12 single hung Excaliber vinyl Alside windows installed 10/2007. They have been great. No problems until a few months ago when one window had a metal part break. I called our installer and he ordered the part and installed it with no charge even though labor is not covered after one year on the limited lifetime warranty. We are very pleased with the look and features and energy savings of our windows. We would highly recommend them! 2/18/18
We built our house in 2000 and every window has broken. Is this company still in business? We have called in the past and they sent us some replacement pieces and even those broke.
The Alside warranty department is VERY difficult to to communicate with. Waiting 4 MONTHS for a response to a warranty claim. Their automated response to my initial warranty application indicated a need for additional paperwork/documentation that was already submitted with the application and in their possession. I called three times to check the status of our warranty application and received an "its in process" response.
I clearly feel like the company is avoiding our claim application. Window is 25 years old and seal failed. Not feeling like the company will back up its lifetime warranty.
Moving on to another manufacturer to replace our window.
Alside Mezzo Windows are GARBAGE. I just had 14 Alside Mezzo windows installed 3 months ago (12 double hung, 1 casement, and one octagon) All 12 double hung leak air between the sashes and between the sashes and frame. And so does the casement. Not only is there continuously condensation buildup on the inside of the windows when it gets in the teens outside - but even ICE buildup when the outside temps are in the zero range. I've have several calibrated hygrometers in the house - and the relative humidity levels are in the 20-30% at most. We are extremely upset with our Sheffield Windows from Alside as they are very poor quality. The color on 4 Rich Maple windows that we ordered came in looking and matching the Soft Maple color. This is a total clash with our upscale trim. We had large window color samples from the company and the other 5 windows that we ordered with 3 completely different colors (Foxwood, Dark Oak, & White) in different rooms were well matched with the samples from Alside. The Rich Maple color is way off. Currently dealing with Alside warranty department. Complaint registered and approved. Parts sent.
Had to get a local installer to make repair.
Installer said parts are not correct for problem. Problem is design.
Windows will not close at the top because the exterior vinyl retainer strip catches the window frame, preventing the window from slipping into the channel and closing completely. 8 windows same problem.
Warranty requested report from installer with pictures, stated problem and solution.
Waiting to see how warranty responds. Condo is on market due to close next week. Will lose buyer if no solution.
Worse window company I’ve ever dealt with. Yes they will honor the warranty, but only half of it. You know, the half that takes your money to cover the prorated part of getting a new window. After that, nothing. We’ve been trying for a whole year to get the replacement window after they charged our credit card for the prorated fee. I have had 7 double hung windows replaced by alside at 2 different times. Of the 14 panes of glass so far 4 of the gaskets have failed allowing mildew to form on the inside so they cannot be cleaned. The "Industry leading warranty" they claim involves sending a new window to a location 140 miles from my home that I must go and pick up and then the installer I used will not even install the replacement glass!
I have the exact problem as Roger E. from Atlanta. I had to travel 100 miles to Richmond , Va to pick up my 3 warranty windows made by Revere from Allside. After getting home to install them, only one had a frame, the other 2 were just double glass.
The vinyl frames were obviously plastic welded at joints, so i'm stuck with 2 pieces of glass and still 2 bad windows. A call to allside windows also said the frames were discontinued. These windows are 11 years old.
Very poor service. I'll now have to do full replacement windows which will not match others! And i'm also out money for a "prorated warranty"...
We were sent to the Solon, Ohio showroom by our architect to look at siding, windows and shingles. Walked around checking out samples and no one even acknowledged that we were there. Ended up giving our business to someone else.
We put in Alside windows several years ago and they are great. No problems whatsoever and though not cheap the price was fair. One screen broke and our contractor immediately got us a replacment. I would highly recommend as an option to other overpriced and more well known brands.
