Netspend's prepaid Visa and Mastercard is a good option for customers looking for a prepaid debit card, since it comes with great features and rewards, such as cashback, personalized offers, mobile and online account management, and check loading. However, the cards come with a great number of fees attached. Although this is very common for the prepaid credit cards industry, it's important for customers interested in Netspend's services to check all of the possible fees before subscribing to their services.

Netspend Visa and MasterCard Card Characteristics

Card Characteristics - 4.9 / 5

Netspend's Visa and Mastercard come in 3 tiers: Pay-As-You-Go, FeeAdvantage Plan, and Premier FeeAdvantage Plan. The first tier benefits from no monthly fees, but is prone to the highest fee costs. The other two tiers have a $9.95 and $5.00 monthly fee respectively, but incur cheaper fees. Users might be swayed by Netspend Premiere's low monthly fee, but it requires a $500 monthly deposit, which might not be a good fit for some customers. However, if you are a FeeAdvantage cardholder, and you deposit $500 on your account, you are automatically upgraded to Premier. The card does not have a minimum or maximum balance, but there is a $940 limit to daily withdrawals, and a $15,000 limit to daily deposits. The card comes with a hefty number of fees, including $2.50 on all domestic ATM withdrawals, $4.95 on international ATM withdrawals, over-the counter withdrawal fees on reload locations and financial institutions, balance inquiry fees at ATMs, stop transaction, card replacement, and reload fees.
