My premiums have increased every year, last year it was 20% and this year 50%. I was told this year's increase was due to the cost of treating mixed breed dogs in my area going up. I wonder if my premiums will come down next year if those mixed breed dogs start living a healthier lifestyle and don't require as much care??? I suspect instead there will be another increase for some stat that is based on flimsy data. It seems like a pretty good strategy, get 5 years of premiums, then jack up the prices so high that people cancel and Fetch doesn't have to payout claims on aging dogs. Well played Fetch! I have cancelled my policy and will put the money i was paying for my premium in... Read More

My premium has almost doubled with no explanation. Unethical and unreliable. Research others and don’t fall for whatever you read about affordability.

Found out when I went to make my first claim ever in 7 years, (been with this company since my basset was a baby,) that I had to pay a separate deductible for each condition. My dog had a surgery to remove some lumps and some dental work done at the same time in order to be cost-effective. I had to pay a separate deductible for the dental work and a separate deductible for the surgery. What a racket that is! Since my dog had this procedures which came up with NO negative results, my premium has gone up $40 a month! What a joke! I am planning to cancel soon. The thousands of dollars we have already spent on premiums, and we had to fight tooth and nail to make one claim. I recommend going... Read More

Very poor customer service and slow communication. I feel as if this company is very sneaky. Had an unauthorized charge on my card. Canceling my policy with them was the best decision I made and I really regret not choosing another company instead from the start.

(In Canada) Fetch by the Dodo (previously known as Petplan) is an unethical, untrustworthy and horrible company. For someone who is planning to enroll pet insurance, it’s better to avoid this company. I enrolled the pet insurance for my dog aged 3 months in 2021. At that moment, there was no medical check up report request but I was asked for it when I submitted a claim after 4 months because my dog got diarrhea. I felt upset and frustrated as there was no point to get a medical check up report after a vet visit with spending additional $200 for claiming $150. The most ridiculous point was that a medical report was not required when the pet insurance was enrolled. But you will be asked... Read More

Awful rates. Go up significantly annually. Mine for one dog is now $170 a month..would never recommend..claims are cumbersome to make and slow to reimburse. Would give a zero if I could.

They are incredibly difficult to work with. There customer service can’t answer questions about my coverage despite buying insurance before I got my dog as a pup. They use a script that’s no different than speaking with a chatbot or an automated voice recording. When you submit a claim they keep asking for more information such as the entire medical history of my dog from his vet every time. Then after submitting what I was given by the vet they still say it’s not enough details. Why don’t they just allow vets to easily submit the claims so they can work with them directly to get the information they need. I would advise anyone looking to get insurance from them to reconsider... Read More

Sounds like great insurance but it also says use any vet in the US or Canada but it doesn't cover Québec, that's not true. Makes me wonder what else they say that is not true.

One of the worst Insurance i can say, i will never recommend to anyone. It take moths get processed your claim and 99.9% they try to decline it. Also they have worst customer service i can say from my experience. They will just keep sending you emails for further and further documents without any exact nates what documents are they looking for. I am paying them since i got my pet and submitted only 1st claim with multiple documents ,so much harassment that you will end up saying that you do not need any claim .

All this company does is find loopholes to not pay you. They will tell you that related vet visits have nothing to do with each other so they won't have to pay out. I've had multiple cats with them for years, I've paid them thousands of dollars, I've never seen a return on my investment. I've always sworn by pet insurance, but this company has me rethinking its need.

Sadly I hoped it would be good. But made it clear they can’t help arranging payment to vet in any instance ( guess they never heard of corporate credit cards). Big rate increases, but the worst is no warning they don’t cover all provinces. I moved and they cancelled the policy. We all know how hard it is to change pet insurance companies. Oh, and they aren’t the insurance company, just the face. The real insurer is behind the scene, and May change. Beyond disappointed. Paid a fortune for years and now left scrambling and they don’t care. No idea how on earth they are #1. Oh & you still need to ensure you have $$$$$ available due to their failure to pay vets direct, which I thought was... Read More

About a month ago, I received a letter indicating that there would be an increase in the premium for my 3 yo dog. Upon reviewing this letter, I noticed that our rate would be increased by 65% while having no prior claims and my dog currently being healthy and without any issues. When I called to inquire, the conversation pretty much offered an ultimatum of taking the new rate or getting much much less for the same premium or cancelling the policy. This posturing from Fetch of 'see if you can get a better rate now that your dog has been with us for 3 years' was very disturbing as the company seems to prop themselves as one of the leading pet insurance companies with recommendations from... Not true about there being no increases in premiums due to the amount of usage. My premiums have gone from around $300 per year to well over $1,000. Since changing their name from PetPlan, customer service has taken a dive as well. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone looking for insurance for their pets.

I am in canada-I talked to a rep and he said 10% off or $25 visa card does not apply in canada, You need to fix your site-it says 25 visa card-Canada only. its not the $25 but I would have been very upset if I signed up and didn't get the visa card. Its a good thing I phoned. I won't be going with you if your quote page provides inaccurate info

WORST – STAY AWAY - I just adopted got a rescue. My dog had immediate diarrhea and I took her in immediately. My vet diagnosed it a food change issue -- obviously I rushed the new food. While I expected the meds wouldn't be covered, as it was a first visit. What I didn't expect was that a SYMPTOM - ie diarrhea - became a pre-existing condition NOT covered for the rest of her life. Diarrhea is NOT a disease as my vet pointed out -- it is a symptom that is associated with many serious medical diseases that would now NOT be covered. Tricky sons of ------. Needless to say after 2 months coverage I cancelled. Clearly they set the tone for finding any possible loop hole to NOT cover... Read More

Please be sure to read the reviews before falling for the #1 rating here. I've been with petplan for less than a year and its been a complete nightmare! Over 6 months for them to set up the stupid app that never worked. Every single claim they took about a month to process because they wanted me to send complete history of medical records each time I made a claim. And here's the worst part: they don't give a crap about privacy. One time I logged into my account and I could see the full name, full address, all the pet information including payouts made and credit card information of another member!! They did not contact the member to tell him they screwed it up. I contacted him and he had... Read More

Your plan sounded like the best when it was sold to us but this has turned out to be anything but the case. You say you cover diagnostic tests but fail to mention that only those tests that come back with a result indicating any issue are covered. Sometimes it takes two different tests to uncover an issue and your failure to cover any tests that might not highlight the issue is NOT the same as saying you cover diagnostic tests in general. Also, you indicate you cover holistic treatments like acupuncture and chiropractic care. It turns out these are also on the same thinking that it is not covered as routine care, but just if there is a NEW issue, not pre-existing. You say you... Read More

For No change in insured cover, deductible, No claims, if the premium gets double, without any specific reason, it's not worth throwing money. Reason being 6 yrs of age and Postal area and unexplained reasons, Sorry, STOP. When you talk to in person, cancelling a policy do not make any difference. Looks like by paying more premium, we are not covering health of Pet, but filling pockets of Executives for Profit making hefty Bonuses. Disgusting
