Part A
Medicare Part A covers services such as surgeries, inpatient hospital care and supplies, as long as the condition is medically required. Medicare Part A is provided at no charge if you worked and paid into Social Security. Part A covers:

Part B
Medicare Part B covers routine doctor visits, including specialists, to treat medical conditions. It also includes preventative services, healthcare meant to prevent illness (like the flu) or to detect it at an early stage, when treatment is likely to work best. Part B covers:

Part C – Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private companies that are approved by Medicare and include Medicare Part and Part B. Medicare Advantage covers:

Part D - Prescription Drug Coverage
Prescription drug coverage, Medicare Part D, is operated by Medicare-approved private insurance companies and helps cover the costs of outpatient prescription drugs. It can be purchased as a standalone plan to supplement Medicare Parts A and B or can accompany a Medicare Advantage plan.

Medicare Supplement
Medicare Supplement, also called Medigap, is private insurance that supplements Medicare Parts A and B. It helps pay some health care costs Medicare Parts A and B don't pay for, such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles. The monthly premium cost can vary depending on the type of coverage but the premium cost is offset by lower annual out-of-pocket costs for healthcare services.
