Dinnerly by Martha&Marley Spoon is a meal delivery and planning service that delivers fresh ingredients and recipes directly to your doorstep. Dinnerly has a meal subscription program that lets consumers enjoy flexible meal delivery services. Its flexible delivery service allows clients to skip weekly deliveries or even pause deliveries anytime. I signed up for Dinnerly at the end of August, expecting my first box on Aug 27. When I checked the delivery status that afternoon I saw that my package had been sent to the incorrect distribution center. I emailed Dinnerly. No response (as of today I have not received a response) Filled out the contact form on their website (no response to that either!) And I called. Spoke to a human who said they would credit me one box but couldn't credit the shipping and my box would still be delivered the next day "if it is still cold you can use the items otherwise just throw them away". I am shocked to see a good review. I cancelled the service on Oct. 20th. Then on Nov 6th I receive an email stating a box is on the way. I immediately contacted them along with a copy of the email cancelling on Oct. 20th. I hear nothing then in Nov. 9th I receive an email stating it is too late and I was getting a delivery. Again sent proof that I cancelled on Oct. 20th. I was not home until the day after box arrived. Chicken was less than 6 Oz. And ground beef was 8 oz. no directions for how to prepare these $26.00 dinners and the ice packs were melted too. NEVER, EVER put your credit card number into a site before you get to know what your buying!!! I changed my mind and cancelled the service well before the shipping date. My cancellation was confirmed and they still sent a box!! Claim it couldn't be stopped. It's a rip off folks. Just a way to get your money for something you didn't want. Would never recommend a company who does this to consumers.

I used Home Chef for a while and wanted to try a less expensive option, so I landed on Dinnerly. I was skeptical at first because it's about 4 dollars cheaper per meal......The packaging was minimal and all of the ingredients were placed together in the box. Make sure you have an iPad or tablet around so you can refer to instructions, as they are not included. Be prepared to seal garlic, ginger, etc as they send one clove for the entire week. Be prepared to have ingredients missing - ours didn't include Thai curry paste which TOTALLY ruined the entire meal. I really wanted to like Dinnerly - I did. But I cannot recommend this service to anyone. Background: We we're using HelloFresh for roughly 12 weeks and loved every delivery (i.e. no issues, no missing items) - but the cost was not something we loved and looked for a cheaper alternative to try out. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews and, quite honestly, some of the issues pointed out don't seem to fall on the shoulders of Dinnerly. I've been using this service weekly for quite a few months now. Overall I am more than pleased. Although the article states limited delivery to what appears to be the Western region of the US; I am in the Northeast and receive my deliveries (with FedEx tracking) on Tuesdays. I have had two deliveries with an issue (missing items and less than stellar produce item). I am only interested in a $5. serving cost, not the higher priced ones, so I’m trying it. It’s been several weeks now. What I like: I don’t need to think about what’s for dinner 3 days a week. We are retired people with small appetites, so there is just enough, with no waste. It saves me hundreds of dollars a month because I rarely go to the grocery store anymore. I want to cancel, but their site won't accept my password. When I tried the password reset option, TEN TIMES I never received an email. I can't access the site to get the recipe card, since it's not in the box. I also want to cancel immediately. The food was shoddily packaged. Meat and cheese in a small bag with an ice pack, with fresh peas smashed flat. The other ingredients were haphazardly tossed into the box. I'm cancelling IMMEDIATELY if they will ever respond to my numerous emails, messages and tweets. I'm going back to Hello Fresh.

After looking through the recipes and ingredients, I was missing two ingredients from three recipes on my first order. The reason I used this service was to have the ingredients delivered to me for meals so that I would not have to continuously run to the grocery store. Now two very integral ingredients to the recipes I ordered, were not included. My box was shipped to CA, but I live in TX. I asked to be credited for this, but was denied three times. I loved the food and recipes. I probably would have been a loyal costumer for years. But, I don’t feel comfortable supporting a company that doesn’t follow good business standards. It’s such a shame.

My box came two days late today and everything inside was hot and damaged! I contacted them about this and they refused to refund me. All they were willing to do was issue a 50% credit. This is highly unfair as the only usable ingredient was maybe the buns which were still not in great shape due to the melted ice. The 50% credit was nowhere near enough to pay for the rest. Plus, I paid for a service!!! The whole point is the convenience of not having to go shopping, so I now also would have to pay for the gas to go to the store. The customer service is absolutely terrible and I do not plan on purchasing from them again.

Cannot get a response. Sent an email two days ago. Called twice and no one picks up. Goes to call back or VM. Got a call back, but guy said to email. Too many other services out there to have to deal with bad service.

I received my first Dinnerly box on Saturday. I ordered the family box and paid for the 3 meal per week plan. When I opened my box however, I found that all of the ingredients for the 3rd meal were missing and one ingredient was missing for each of the other 2. I figured it was no big deal and that people make mistakes, so I would just call and have them send the 3rd meal. You cannot stop delivery immediately after signing up. I chose the box size, gave credit card info and only then saw the extremely limited menu choices. Anyone with sugar or salt issues will have a problem. Tried to substitute and three other meals offered were high in sugar and salt as well. My point: tried to cancel first shipment after ONE minute, and I cannot. Says "Delivery in progress". I canceled further shipments but am stuck paying for meals that I cannot eat. Either allow people to cancel within X minutes of meal selection on signup or show choices BEFORE credit card info given and you are locked in. NOT happy.

This company is horrible I would not recommend you order from them. I haven't received one meal that I paid for. They don't send shipping tracking info so you have no idea where your shipment is. Customer service is terrible. After many attempts to find out what's happened I haven't received an answer. I cancelled the service after paying for 2 weeks and not getting a response. Emailed CEO which is an option when you cancel and again never got my expected delivery or response. There phone systems aren't set up correctly you get disconnected after you wait for a few minutes. No one is around all weekend so if you don't get your Friday shipment..... you met get a response...

I have been a dinnerly customer for about /6-7 weeks now and while I give the actual meals a good rating as they taste good and are easy to prepare I am giving a bad star rating due to packing of meals. In the last 3 weeks I have had 2 of those weeks where the ingredients weren't all there. The first week I had 3 meals and didn't have any meals that had all of the ingredients. One of the meals was called stuffed broccoli-cheddar tacos and the only ingredients I received for that entire meal was the ranch dressing and garlic. They might be the cheapest meal kit delivery, but they are absolutely not trustworthy. My first box, they had forgotten to send an important ingredient without which one of the dishes would not have been possible. The next week, they top that performance by forgetting to send the box itself! They did not send any notification to inform me that they could not send the box, no alternatives, nothing! Dinnerly started out great, but quality soon declined. I received rotten (black, slimy) vegetables many weeks in a row, and when that was finally sorted out, my next two deliveries were missing crucial items. I cancelled my subscription because it wasn't worth the frustration of receiving spoiled or missing items.

I contacted customer service and they said that is a problem with their shipping partner, not them. Ok. Well I never signed off on this shipping partner., so it is Dinnerly’s problem. I am amazed to see these ratings (must be from management of Dinnerly) I have used 4 different delivery services and have to say Dinnerly has to be the worst. ( we switched because they were cheaper and now I know why) We have been with them 3 weeks (that's 9 meals) Out of the 9 meals 3 have been complete. ALL of the other 6 have had NUMEROUS missing ingredients! I believe in giving them a chance but good grief, This is ridiculous.

Missing Ingredients and Disappointing Customer Service Boxes get cancelled without warning, yet funds have been captured. Customer service operators are rude and do not follow through on promises for credits on the missing ingredients. Spend the dollars and use a service like HelloFresh its well worth it instead of having to deal with the incompetency of Dinnerly/Marley Spoon
