Founded in 2019, Giddy makes an FDA-Registered Class 2 device, Eddie by Giddy, which is designed to help men with erectile dysfunction maintain their erections and have more satisfying sex lives. The company is owned by Giddy Holdings, Inc. and is located in Austin, Texas.

Treatment Options and Services

Eddie by Giddy offers one mechanical treatment option to men experiencing erectile dysfunction. Its flagship product is a device called Eddie. According to Giddy, Eddie can help with several bedroom problems: the inability to maintain an erection, premature ejaculation, and retrograde ejaculation.

Eddie fits at the base of the penis just north of the scrotum. It consists of a U-shaped piece, crafted from an ABS polycarbonate alloy that's coated with a thermoplastic polymer for comfort. Because it is designed to surround and grip the penis, Eddie requires flexible tension bands to complete its "seal" and apply pressure. The bands come in two varieties, Regular and Sport. Sport creates a tighter fit around the penis.

Eddie is made of medical-grade materials that can be effectively sanitized—an important consideration given its proximity to users' and their partners' genitals. Similar products that you might find at a sex toy shop, for example, may not offer that feature, nor Eddie's durability.

In addition to Eddie, Giddy also offers a series of videos that address such topics as available treatment options for erectile dysfunction, its root causes of erectile dysfunction—some may be psychological and others physical—and intimacy issues, These videos can be viewed online and are free once you have purchased an Eddie device.

Ease of Process

Giddy's website is well-designed and simple to use. The company does a good job of describing Eddie in words and pictures. Ordering Eddie online is as easy as ordering a pizza--or perhaps a bathing suit, since fit is important. Eddie is available in four sizes. The company says its range of sizes accommodates 99% of men. If you order the wrong size, Giddy will replace the product to ensure you get a perfect fit. Ordering Eddie is certainly simpler than ordering a prescription ED medicine online. There are no questionnaires. You don't have to wait for a physician to evaluate your answers and prescribe your medication. Nor do you have to schedule a video chat with a medical provider to be approved for Eddie.

Pricing

Eddie isn't cheap. A two-pack of Eddie devices, which comes with 12 tension bands, costs $298. Giddy recommends that you replace your Eddies and bands every four months. You can save some money by signing up for automatic Eddie refills. Bottom line? If Eddie helps you, it can wind up being a lot less expensive than prescription ED medicine. Even in their generic forms, prescription ED meds can cost upwards of $40 per pill.

But it's important to understand that Eddie's claims of successful treatment aren't backed up by the FDA. The FDA has only approved three medications for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. You're taking your chances on whether Eddie will work for you. The good news is there are no side effects associated with Eddie and, unlike prescription medications, you can use Eddie regardless of whether you have hypertension, cardiac issues, or allergies.

Provider Credentials and Medical Expertise

According to Giddy, Eddie and the Eddie video series were designed by a team of experts in urology, integrative medicine, psychology, and communications. The company publishes some of its team members' names and photos, but no further information is provided.

This is a rubberized clamp held in place by a rubber band. Marketed as a "medical device." Please. Also, it irritates my partner, too. All five-star reviews on their website, though! Go figure.

Eddie by Giddy is one of the few new designs know as Open Penis Rings. That is they are designed to not constrict the urethra leading to an enhanced or explosive ejaculation. Problem with the Eddie is that with a too tight tensioning band they can do what they claim they don't - constrict the urethra. There are also lots of reviews mentioning pinching and discomfort. Because of that I had to request a different size and then basically set it aside after trying to get used to it a few times. A perfectly sized Eddie can certainly help hold blood in the penis, however, but other open penis rings can do the same with more comfort and longer wear time.
