We recently got my Dad a Jitterbug flip phone. So far so good, but right from the start he got a lot of robocalls that are driving him bananas. Greatcall customer service says there's nothing they can do. Message to Greatcall: just about every wireless service provider has a call spam filter but you. If anybody needs a spam filter, IT'S SENIORS! People are willing to pay a bit extra for this service although many service providers don't charge for it. Please provide a spam filter option. Fast. We are looking at changing wireless providers in order to solve this problem. Verizon--my service provider-- is doing a good job.

This phone only works part time. There is a service issue that they say is “a known issue” and “no service” is available, yet they fail to notify owners of the phone and do not give any credit on the bill.

Great call is the best Senior CITIZEN phone plan. We bought the Jitterbug flip. We just got it so easy to setup and use. We have the 5 Star button for emergency and the savings from switching from AT&T is 30.00 dollars a month cheaper. The quality of the phone itself in red is everything they said and adverts true to for . No. Gimmicks. After all the research and redevelopment we did this stood out as the best option for older seniors with hearing and eyesight issues. Love ❤️ Love 💕 it.

Very disappointed with Jitterbug flip phone. Seems to have been assembled from leftover out of date components: slow to connect when dialing out, speaker quality very mediocre and software that necessitated too many steps to accomplish routine transactions. Best thing was clarity of speech of customer service reps. We bit the bullet after 2-1/2 months and changed to Affinity Cellular (free flip phone and low cost understandable monthly plans).

Slightly disappointed. There is no T9 on the flip phone so my husband's arthritic fingers have to fumble with repetitive punching of keys. The battery is dead in 8 hours of very moderate use. The ring tone selection is not adequate for anyone hard of hearing. AND it had to be replaced in the first 2 weeks because the front screen got a big blackout spot in the center. Another expense. In the end I'm paying the same amount for a phone he hates that's NOT meeting his needs.

How is it possible that people have given this phone a 5 star rating? I did my research and thought I found the perfect simple phone for my mom. Not so. I am not referring to the Star Urgent Response system. Just the phone and Great Call service. My experience with my mom's use of this phone has been nothing short of awful. Repeatedly. After calling Great Call many times, getting updates and supposed fixes, and even getting their low vision operator assistance, my mom is unable to call me successfully MOST of the time! I just got off the phone with GreatCall Customer Support on behalf of a friend who I purchased the Jitterbug flip phone for. There is a current software bug with the flip phone impacting its functionality - especially people on the other end of the call hearing the person calling. Other problems have included the phone sometimes not ringing when an incoming call comes it. I provide this account for my mother, she is 99 years old, blind, and in a nursing home. We are both long time AARP members. I purchased the phone on 11 November 2019 because of its voice dial feature. However, it is not user friendly because vision is required to select the voice dial option. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PHONE AND SERVICE! My parents (83 and 87 yrs old) wanted a simple phone for emergencies. We bought the jitterbug flips and have used Great Call for 4-5 yrs. Everything was fine until my dad's phone died. We got the newer flip phone in early June and it still IS NOT usable. I cannot understand a word he says. Called CS many times and there comments were "we will send a software update out" "blow in the speaker to try and clear dust out" "we will escalate your update", you will be priority and phone should be updated by (day). Too complicated for the senior in the household. having to press yes or no for each question is too much, it is an exxtra step and people with memory problems need a simpler more ergonomically designed phone. This phone defeats the purpose for which it was intended. I feel it is a sham and no one thought this through and just sold it as the thing for seniors. Shame on you!!!!

I have a Jitterbug flip top phone. I have had it for many years with no problems. However, in the past 6 months my old phone had a dead battery, and Jitterbug no longer provides batteries for that phone. I bought a new Jitterbug red flip top phone, especially promoted for the elderly, and I can't place outgoing calls on it since it is so garbled to the one receiving the call. This phone works for my Mom with her limited sight however it is the biggest pain around. We replaced the phone 2 months ago because The calls wouldn't go through and go straight to voicemail, etc. Are still having the same problems. This phone freezes up requiring taking the battery out which Mom at 94 can't do, I call and it has shut off going straight to voicemail, she will answer a call and she can hear the caller but the caller hears nothing. Service says it should be fine ....signal is great...sure unless you have the phone. Lastly she was using it for a clock and it is usually an hour off. I bought a flip phone in March 2019 for my 90 year old mother who lives alone . It worked for about a month and then voices started to be garbled and I wasnt able to get through to her anymore . Greatcall acknowledged the phone as defective and promised a software fix , which still hasn’t been completed . I was forced to cancel the account so she could get her old number back on a landline . I was denied a refund since the 30 day warranty was up. This is UNSAT. My mother’s safety was compromised because she couldn’t communicate with family and friends , and Greatcall customer service was terrible . This looks like a good candidate for a class action lawsuit!!

Went with this company though it would be a better product though s bit more expensive. Beside telling why I needed this phone and how soon I needed it guaranteed me I’d have a working phone . I PD xtra shipping to get it and realized shortly after the flip phone didn’t have what was agreed. Need it by mono or Ning for elderly parent five hour drive from my house. 3 different agents still not working correctly. Charged monthly ins protection that wasn’t ordered but asked for voice mail not text. Love the Jitterbug Plus Flip phone, but now that I want to get my photos sent to my e-mail to get hard copies this feature does not seem to be working no matter how many times customer service techs discuss it with me. Not good business to advertise the photo feature when it does not work through texting they insist on. I even offered to send my phone for the techs to try to get them. So far all I get is frustration and no solution. The poor rating is only for the photo feature, otherwise I have been satisfied with this product .

I bought a Great Call flip phone for my father for his birthday. He had an android smart phone that was basically too much phone for him to manage. I loved the big buttons on the flip phone and the simple menu. But, and this is a huge BUT, when he spoke on the phone his words were so garbled no one could understand him. We called Great Call to report the problem, and they did a few tweaks remotely from their office. It made little improvement. Customer service is terrible! I pay my mom’s phone bill every month, yet I was unable to access the account when I called to change the password. There is no option to change your plan online - everything has to be done over the phone and they treat you like you are stupid for wanting to change anything! I changed my mom’s plan to a plan that was supposed to cost less, but somehow it still costs the same every month. I would recommend getting a flip phone with one of the main companies or a prepaid phone! These aren’t worth the hassle of dealing with terrible customer support! They are also cheaply made - the battery housing case no longer charges the phone.

I had the Jitterbug flip phone for many years when I was told I couldn't use it anymore because of the battery. It was perfect for my 85 yrs and I even got thru to my 70 yr. old nephew when he was on the cruise ship accident in Amsterdam. He thought I was there and not in Williams, Arizona. Tried the new flip phone. It didn't have enough power in 2 little batteries to give me the volume I needed. Original JitterBug was great> With the change in style one might call it "The Bug" FOR i FIND RECURRENT FLAWS. Example: With each Bug I find a reluctance to ring for all incoming calls. It may take 2-3 calls to rectify this . Since I have no handy love one to school me in Smart Phones use I guess I'm stuck.

I started out with the original flip phone. I purchased an upgraded version so I'd have a camera should anything happen to my original. When I went to activate the camera phone, I was told it was too old to activate. I love my Jitterbug phone but wish I could have upgraded instead on now having to purchase a much more expensive phone.
