Bit defender is very effective for windows based computers. The features are unique are better for scanning drives. It is also very good at detecting and removing malware. I have to say this Antivirus program is great. I have used it for a year never have a problem at all. I have visited sites that are risky and right away Bitdefender alerts me about the risk. When I bootup my pc bitdefender right away scanned. I don't even find it to be expensive I have to say so far so good no problem. Firewall is excellent.
I'm no guru but have safely used PC's since b4 hacking bcame such a pastime. If I was writing a review of the 2017 AVG offering I would be giving that 2 Stars. The GUI on all of the AntiVirus products by all of the major contenders has tended to suck more each year as the industry marketing continues, year after year, to amp up the paranoia. The more arrogant these companies have gotten, the more they have dumbed down the GUI's, and taken control away from end users. With Bitdefender, as I type this, there is TSR program running on my system that that apparently now handles Firefox password management tasks.
