I arrived at my hotel with a prepaid voucher for a double standard room. But the room Otel had booked at the hotel was bunk beds. Also, no doubles were available.
The hotel was able to arrange for a room at a sister hotel (at additional charge).
I advised Otel of the situation immediately and was given a ticket number. It is now over two weeks later and (despite follow ups on my part) there has still been no response at all - just ignore me.
I suggest avoiding this booking site.
listed price was $88 per night but I am being billed $199 per night. In their help chat, he just says we cannot "price match". They say I cannot cancel and there is no refund. I would say to stay far away from this website.
Avoid these as a plague,I’ve made an attempt to book a hotel stay with them,the booking did not go through for whatever reason but my card was charged,I have contacted them several times and received different contradictory messages,rang them which costed me a 15 pounds bill for 5 minutes conversation,they reassured me that they have not charged me on their side and the payment is pending but took the money anyway and later denied and insisted that they’ve not charged my card!It took me days and long conversations with my bank to recover the money!Scammers,unacceptable and hope that your scam company will disappear not to be seen or heard forever!
Avoid at all costs! This is a very poor hotel aggregating site that outsources its operations - meaning that they have no agency in the process when things get screwed up (which they will). We booked a hotel in Baltimore through this site several weeks in advance. On the day of our travel, we received an email informing us that we were NOT booked, but they had found alternative arrangements. This also turned out to be incorrect. They kept writing and calling back that our plans had fallen through so that by - 5pm THE DAY WE WERE IN TOWN - we had no hotel and had to use booking.com to find arrangements. I did a search through Trivago and was rerouted to Otel.com. When searching the required Hotel it came back with the message that the Hotel's site did not respond. As there was no further communication I closed the page.
I did not receive any email of confirmation from them, a day later the amount was deducted from my account.
I was charged twice by Otel.com for a single booking. I've attempted to contact them by every option available on their website. I've been blocked from calling their support number (wow, that's great customer support), their live chat is only intermittently available (and when it was, I was directed to put in a ticket "since that wasn't an issue they could help with"), and no one has responded to my support request that I put in 3 days ago.
Overall, I would be surprised to find out that this site is anything other than a poorly run scam. If I could give a rating less than one star, I would.
I booked through trivago and my hotel booking was directed to otel.com and I payed the booking bill through mastercard and one day later I checked my booking with the hotel to make sure everything is ok but I got a negative answer from the hotel indicating that there is no booking in my name. I got two confirmation emails from otel.com and express trivago booking with my room booking details. what should I do in this case?
A definite scam site. Only book through Otel if want to arrive at your destination with no room booked BUT having paid. They are based in Turkey so hard to contact. I paid for a room in February 2018 for a stay in November 2018...cancelled. They were confirming until a few days before I arrived. I had to pay again to get into a room until the hotel sorted this out with Otel. They’d also never heard of this company. Read all review sites before you use them. Many ripped off people in their wake. I got a refund on my second payment after the hotel sorted it. I didn’t trust these frausters to help me. Stay away. You’ve been warned!
As many here, I was also scammed by Otel.com. I booked a hotel via otel.com but due to unforseen circumstances I had to cancel the trip. I called the hotel and they agreed to cancel the reservation without any charges. As matter of fact, the hotel said they didn't charged at all. However on my credit card there was a charge from Otel.com. I tried to called, sent emails, live chat and nothing. they are not getting back with me. Biggest scam out there. BE AWARE!!!
Otel.com IS A SCAM!!!!! They sent me a confirmation email and took my payment. I called the hotel 3 weeks later (luckily) to find that the booking was never made! When I contacted otel.com (which is located in Turkey) they refused to speak to me over the phone and were talking about how they would find a similar hotel for me but couldn't book the one I originally booked and got the confirmation for. When I asked for my money back they went silent and I had to file a claim through my credit card. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF "DEAL" IT MAY SEEM LIKE THEY HAVE!
