Hotel closed for covid and no refund and credit card (Capital One) Did nothing to protect me from this fraudulent company. Also, I’m curious if Consumer Advocates .org is legitimate. Rates 3.8/5 stars (very good) when all 35 comments rate this company with zero stars....please explain
BUYER BEWARE!!! -0 stars! I recently booked a reservation through Otel.com. As a result of the COVID situation, my hotel in Florida was not accepting guests. I contacted Otel.com SEVERAL times to inquire about rescheduling my reservation, or obtaining a credit or refund. They did not respond for several weeks, and then told me that there was a "no cancellation" policy. I explained that I did NOT cancel the reservation, nor did I wish to cancel the reservation...that I would like to know how and when my reservation would be rescheduled. I have sent three emails in the last month to request a refund on a hotel in Bruges that THEY cancelled. I have had no response. I will probably just try and work with my credit card company.
Scam! Booked through them. Hotel didn’t have my registration, said payment was never received but went through on my credit card. International number not taking calls. Still waiting for a response via email. I ended up paying Otel and the hotel directly.
TERRIBLE and UNRELIABLE BUSINESS !!! ...Don't waste your money and time! DO NOT MAKE ANY BOOKINGS ON OTEL.COM ...just don't ruin your vacation. Here is my story: I have been waiting for my refund since December 2019 and it's May 2020 now. I still haven't received my money back!!! They agreed to issue us a full refund back in February 2020 and ASSURED us in writing that a refund HAD BEEN ISSUED ALREADY and it's on the way. They told us that it will be reflected back to our credit card within 2 - 14 business days. Since we received a confirmation by email that our money is on the way, we were not worried about it. NO STARS - We need to put them out of business. I am still waiting for a refund over $2000 as I booked a room for a three week business opportunity. I was well within the cancellation period for a full refund. At first I was offered a voucher - when I hinsisted on the full refund I was informed it would be at least 30 days due to the corona virus. It has been over 30 days and my emails have gone unanswered. I will be contacting the BBB, the state attorney general and will pursue legal action if necessary.
WARNING: Do not do business with these scammers! My wife and I booked a hotel through Otel.com. When the pandemic resulted in border closures, we were forced to contact Otel.com about receiving a refund for our trip. Several weeks later, we finally received an email from MetGlobal (parent company) informing us that the hotel would issue a refund and therefore, we would not be refunded by Otel.com. We contacted the hotel directly and they advised us that 100% of all bookings had been cancelled and refunded in full to all third party booking companies. I WONT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY STARS THEY ARE FRAUDS AND STEAL YOUR MONEY AND NEVER PAY IT TO THE HOTEL. I BOOK MY HOTEL WITH THEM FOR 3 NIGHTS IN FLORIDA AND WENT I GOT TO THE HOTEL THEY CLAIM THEY NEVER GOT THE MONEY I HAD TO PAY AGAIN AND WHEN I REACH OUT TO THEM I GOT NOTHING IN RETURN TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. I just finished staying at a hotel room booked by otel.com. First my reservation was incorrect. I thought I reserved a room with two beds, because we were 3 adults traveling together. Second on check out i found the rate at the hotel would have been $367.44 for two nights versus i paid $451.77 for two nights.
