Allianz Travel Insurance Summary

Allianz opening price point plans offer travelers the most commonly purchased coverage options. Trip cancellation and interruption services are offered even under its OneTrip Cancellation Plus, the company's entry level offering. Trips are insured up to their full purchase price. The company extends protection to children under 17 when accompanied by a paying adult with no additional cost on their OneTrip Prime and OneTrip Premier plans. 

Allianz offers customers a full refund if coverage is cancelled within fifteen days of purchase.

I purchased travel insurance for an April 7,2022 cruise. I paid for thar cruise, including cost of insurance on December 12,2021 then fell on Febuary 8 2022 and fractured my spine. I canceled the cruise and set Allanaz a letter from the doctor who treated my injury saying I could not travel for 3 months. Silversea forwarded a copy of payment for that cruise. At this point an eighth grader could have handled my refund in one hour. Allanaz, atter numerous phone calls and emails, finally settled my claim on July 7,2022 four months ater I filled the required information. Booked a flight with JetBlue, took the insurance. Our flight was canceled due to "mechanical issue" We immediately called the insurance company and they said we had $1100 each in coverage for trip interruption. We had to book a more expensive hotel, extend the rental car and had other expenses including huge cell bill due to all the time spent on hold with them and Jet blue. Filed a claim and after 2 months and several calls and emails it was declined. they said I needed a letter from the airline stating that it was a mechanical issue. Al spangler: 2/5/2022 Do yourself a favor and save your money. While their communication is good, they will drag out your claim for months with unreasonable hurdles, delays, and excuses why they can"t or wont pay. I gave them two stars because they made it fairly easy to find out. Very unsatisfied.

This company is a complete scam!!! My daughter’s fiancé was murdered a few months b4 the event I bought the tickets for them. I submitted my claim and only after 4 months, a hundred calls and emails did they even dare to say because he wasn’t family it’s not covered!!!!!!! They have no compassion and no professionalism they have these ghetto rude ppl speaking to the customers with no class and they completely rob us!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN

I was a loyal and very satisfied customer of Allianz Global Assistance Travel Insurance. I have used them for several years and been happy with every claim I filed. I bought a $40,000 travel insurance policy for $3,336 in Feb 2019 for a month long trip in Europe in September 2020. All my vendors cancelled my flights and cruises. I submitted a claim for $1,456 for expenses not refunded. I was denied my claim. I then asked for a refund of my policy monies since it didn't cover anything., this was also denied. I shall do my best now to find another travel insurance agency to use in the future.

We purchased Allianz flight insurance through American Airlines for flights for an Oceania cruise. After Oceania cancelled the cruise due to the coronavirus we tried to get reimbursed for the unusable airline tickets, but Allianz said they do not cover coronavirus-related cancellations.

Absolutely terrible travel insurance. We filed a claim because Disney World was closed and despite the fact that our destination was inhabitable they denied our claim. Travel insurance is a scam. I will never buy insurance from this fraud company again.

Allianz is a big disappointment with this pandemic. They’re of no help at all. Will deny claim out rightly if they hear your cancellation is due to current travel plan . Will never get them again in my future travels. NEVER!!!!

I used Allianz when I purchased tickets for a play. It was cancelled due to the coronavirus. When I submitted my claim it was denied since it was an epidemic. I will NEVER use this company again and would advise others to do the same. There are so many exclusions that the policy is worthless!

I took out Allianz travel insurance on 10/24/19 well before the COVID 19 outbreak. My trip was scheduled for 3/10/20-3/15/20 for $4,554, dollars, I cancelled on 3/9/20 when the pandemic was declared, people were dying on ships, Italy was experiencing major death and hardship, and Americans were advised not to travel out of the County. By 3/11/20, the US govt. stopped all travel to European countries and wanted Americans back by midnight on 3/13/20. In spite of submitting documentation, the pandemic and a clause on my contract stating a covered reason is,"Unable to receive immunization," I have not received reimbursement.
