Warning....Do not do business with Allianz. This company is as close to a scam as it could be. I'm sure they occasionally pay a claim, just to get a good review now and then, but in my opinion they are operating a well oiled scam. Months have gone by without a word from them. I only get the status of my claim if I ask, and it's always the same response...."they need the documentation." I've sent everything they asked for 4 times now. I think they just discard it. If I could, I'd give then a zero...or a negative number. Denny Lowe San Diego, CA

OVER-RATED! We bought (before COVID-19 was a "thing" in the US) a policy to cover travel to the NYC area for a cruise. The cruise was cancelled, so I called to inquire about a possible airfare refund. The rep suggested we submit the question online, which we did. Our question--which had now officially become a "claim"--was denied. (We did get an e-credit from the airline.) We then requested a refund of our premium in accordance with the EXACT verbiage on Allianz's COVID-19 FAQ page ("...as long as a PAYABLE claim has not been file..."). However, we were told that ANY claim is cause for refusal for a refund--(and that ANY question like our original inquiry MUST be formally submitted. I'm... Read More

I obtained a policy from Allianz, however when I requested a copy of the exclusions, (because of a claim that was denied) they completely ignored my request. They are very unprofessional

Get the insurance directly from the car rental company next time. The process with allianz will take forever and they may try to nickle and dime you so you don't get full coverage. Don't bother reading the policy, it won't help to understand what is covered.

I had a medical incident in Mexico. I was in the hospital for 2 days. I was on the. brink of dying so my friend handled as much as he could. In Mexico they wouldnt even operate on me til they had 10k USD in hand. My friend called people friends and family and maxed out his own life savings to save my life. When I returned I submitted all documents I had. It was a nightmare to get my diagnosis from the hospital in Mexico, they only took cash under the table for the ambulance, even though I was dying (literally not figuratively) and I had no real record of the $500 USD out of pocket that was given to the driver. I asked MULTIPLE times to speak to a supervisor at Allianz so I could tell them... Read More

What an awful experience. 2 months after filing a claim and countless emails and phone calls I still have no response. I just keep hearing "wait 3-5 more days". What a scam

My wife tested positive for covid on the last day of our British Isles cruise. At that time the US required us to quarantine in London for 10 days before being allowed back into the US. We tried calling Allianz to file a claim when we returned to the US in May 2022 but could never reach the claims office. We did this multiple times but each time we waited on hold for an hour or more until our call was disconnected. We found the website where we could file our claim online, but we had questions about the information being requested and we could not reach anyone to speak with. We submitted our online claim with what we had and hoped for the best. We were able to check on the status of... Read More

I am having a horrible experience with Allianz Global Assistance. They simply do not want to pay my medical claim of $1,289 submitted back on 1/22/2022 (7 months ago). They keep stalling, asking for the same documents over and over again, after I had submitted them months ago. Customer Service is terrible! I can never speak with a Claims Examiner on the phone. I call and wait and wait for 20-30 minutes, before the customer service agent schedules a call back from a Claims Examiner at a specific day/time. But they NEVER CALL BACK! I am so sorry that I purchased travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance, and will never use them again!

I purchased Allianz Global Assistance Travel Insurance prior to a trip to California in May, 2022. As luck would have it, my baggage was left behind in Dallas. The representative for the airline assured me that it would be delivered the following morning. Unfortunately, it was not delivered until 2 days later. I had no choice but to go out to purchase necessities needed for my stay, in that I had no guarantee as when my luggage would be delivered. A claim was filed on May 27th, upon my return home. Supporting/required information was sent to Allianz by certified mail. It has been well over 2 months, with phone conversations with at least 3 customer service reps assuring me that my claim...
