I was told this was great insurance for my RV so I got it...boy was that a mess!!! My premium was 43.oo a month and that was great until this month...132.00!!!! Due to not providing documentation of vehicle insurance, which I did not know I needed to provide!! And was not allowed to get my $ back on the day it was drafted from my account!!! And charged me 20.00 or so for cancellation fee...really????? 132.00 is a far cry from 43.00.

Tammy, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Your agent should have conveyed any necessary paperwork that needed to be completed when you bound your policy. We'd be happy to dig up and listen to your call to see if that happened, then address any training or coaching issues from there. Again, we apologize about any confusion on our part and seriously hope we were able to remedy this situation with you.

I have had their ins since 1959, NGI has changed. They have people with cold hearts working now. I hit an elk in Oregon and I know the damage incurred, they are denying many parts of the damage claiming it old damage with no proof. I have photos and dates showing no damage. I asked for their proof in writing and they replied with a notice of cancellation. I contacted 15 shops in So CA and all off the record said NGI is the most difficult to deal with always denying this and that. They are all afraid to loose business by speaking out. They all told me that Bryan Hughes is the worst to work with. They all said AAA is the best. I am a full-timer and will need to go back to Illinois (out of... Read More

I'm confused by this as the title up top shows National General with 9.7 starts out of 10 but if I read the reviews I can't comprehend how it's add's up to 9.7 stars? Help me understand because after reading the comments I have no choice but to opt out and look elsewhere for insurance.

Our National motorhome survived the Valley Fire of 09/12/2015. The brakes on the right side were melted from the heat. Denied. The roof seams on the perimeter were damaged from the heat.Denied A scratch caused by a crazy person was called a collision. We were basically called liars like the other reviewers. We reported them to the CA Department of Insurance. They use "Direct Repair Program" that leaves the owner out completely. The adjusters just made up the narrative of the occurrence.

If you have National General, RUN!!! We have a two piece windshield both with damage. THEY determined that it would be separate claims and therefore separate deductibles. They also would not cover a new gasket for it even though the RV service manager said the existing one could not be used. They also would not cover the driver's side window as it was fogged and you can't even see out of it. Adjuster didn't even listen. We are pursuing other insurance...Progressive looks the best so far.

Worst coverage ever. Put your rv on your own insurance avoid this company. Trailer (national general through camping world) and truck (not national general thank God) were in horrible baseball sized hail storm. Truck had almost $6k in damage. Truck has been fixed. We filed claim on trailer from MN, told we were covered. After a bit of time we were basically called liars. The damage to our trailer was from something else not hail damage. Wow truck was parked next to trailer in campground. Storm happened 6/18/2016, it's now 8/22/2016. One agent stated that their storm models showed no storm. Check the weather news. In our entire insurance history we have never been called liars. Had to ask... Read More

A claim was file while traveling. Agreement was made to delay dealing with damages until I returned home. When I got home claim had been cancelled and 5 emails and 4 phone calls were ignored. When I finally got a response from a supervisor I was told to proceed with getting estimates and was then ignored again. I I do not recommend this company.
