I am writing this review to express my utter disgust with Travel Insured International and to warn other against purchasing their policies. My trip was canceled because my wife received a cancer diagnosis. Travel Insured International claims that her cancer was a pre-existing condition despite the actual cancer diagnosis coming several weeks after I purchased the policy. This company will make you jump through hoops, submit tons of paperwork and not reach out concerning the claim status. You will end up having to do all the heavy lifting if you have to file a claim. My wife broke her hip while on an Amazon River boat cruise in Peru. We had been required to buy travel insurance from Travel Insured International (TII). As a retired MD I knew what we need for her care, and I arranged for the US surgeon and and hospital where I had had my hip surgery. In numerous satellite and land telephone calls to TII I encountered several days of delay and refusal to offer help beyond insisting that she have the surgery in Lima. We were stuck in a remote Amazonian minute hospital without English speakers.
