With decades of experience in home renovation, you can’t go wrong with Home Depot for your new stairlift. Its models, provided by its partnership with National Seating & Mobility, are compact, ergonomically designed, come with several safety measures, and have all been thoroughly tested. The combined product and labor warranty duration ensures that consumers who have issues with their equipment can get it fixed without having to undergo a big investment.

Although customer satisfaction with Home Depot varies widely by product, service, and location, National Seating & Mobility stairlifts has been in business since 2005 and offers stairlift installation services through dozens of locations across the US. Not all Home Depot stores offer stairlifts and independent living products, but you can check by zip code on the Home Depot website to see whether a store nearby you can meet your mobility needs.

Home Depot Lifts

Features and Customization - 5 / 5

Home Depot’s stairlifts are provided by National Seating & Mobility, which offers four types of stairlift models, two straight and two curved. One of each type of model is suitable for outdoor usage. The indoor models are battery-powered to ensure they work even in case of a power outage. The outdoor models are tested for their performance from 0˚ F to 125˚ F (-18˚ C to 52˚ C) and include a cover to further protect the seats.

All labor, products and installation are 100% backed by The Home Depot. Installers are local, licensed and insured, and the company background checks everyone who will go into a client’s home. The company can provide same day stairlift installation in emergencies and will teach clients how to operate their new stairlift.

The Independent Living Services program also includes the following:
• A free virtual or in-home consultation
• Professional measurement of the installation area for a custom fit
• An on-the-spot quote, including all labor and materials, and affordable financing options
• Delivery and installation of your new equipment by a certified technician
• Removal and haul away of existing equipment if replacing

Home Depot Customer Service & Reputation

Customer Service - 5 / 5

Customer satisfaction with Home Depot’s services is not particularly positive. The company is accredited by the BBB and has an A- rating but has a score of 1.15 out of 5 based on 1,307 customer reviews. It also shows a large number of complaints: 8,788 in the last 3 years, of which only 3,264 were closed in last 12 months. The company does not fare much better in Trustpilot, where it has a 1.4 score based on 2,412 reviews.

Consumers should keep in mind that large retail chains usually suffer from a high number of negative reviews online because they offer so many products and services through so many stores. Quality is bound to vary and ratings are not necessarily specific to specific products or locations. Make sure to look up reviews of Home Depot locations near you to see how its services are received by local customers.
