Summary

When it comes to any type of insurance coverage, a no limit benefit policy is our best protection against accidents and illness. Petsecure offers this option with its Secure 4 plan but this also comes at price. While this option is not recommended for those on a budget or with younger pets, pet owners with older pets should seriously consider this offer. Petsecure scores big with its coverage features and its preventive care services ensure that your pets are kept in tip top shape. Overall, Petsecure is definitely one of the better options for pet owners searching for pet insurance services.

I see mostly negative comments about Petsecure, how do they achieve a 4 star rating? I personally have not had good experiences with this company.

PetSecure has been awesome to deal with. They are very personable and helpful in giving a quote, setting up a policy, and answering questions you may have. This was my first time getting pet insurance for my cat and I'm very glad I did. The vet submits your claims so that is very easy they just need your signature, you get an email when a claim has been received and it is quickly processed and direct deposited in your account. You can access your client portal anytime for information regarding claims or anything else. The premiums are great and set up as pre-authorized debits so they come out of your account each month. Unfortunately, I recently lost my service feline Mitzy traumatically... Read More

I truly didn't want to have to write a negative review of this company but I feel like if this helps someone else, it is worth it. I signed up for Petsecure for my four pets in Feb 2019 on their basic plan. After paying into it for 10 months, I found that I wasn't meeting their required deductible and I called and cancelled the plan. Within a month I worried I had made a mistake as one of my cats began coughing and the testing ended up costing $900 (it ended up being an issue due to hairballs). I called back right away and asked to be put on their "secure 4" plan - for 2 dogs and 2 cats, this equated to $355/month but I figured it would be worth it because it included a... Read More

Complete SCAM! I was only with this place for 3 months and it was an absolute nightmare. My dog had a UTI last year and received treatment for it. She then got an allergic reaction to some food she was on and was given a steroid. This induced another UTI and was given medication and well as a powder to prevent diarrhea. I spent over $600 in this time frame and was ONLY reimbursed for $133. First I had called to see why the claim was taking SO long and they had told me they needed more information, which I wasn't aware of because I received no call whatsoever( This could have sped up the process by weeks). I spoke to multiple people and every time I spoke to them it was a different... Read More

Ya I would prolly stay away from this insurance provider, my dog has allergies and he has been to the vet for tests and what not, and I got a email from them today saying they are cutting my coverage from 80% down to 50% cause how many times he has been to vet and claimed!!! I am now going to cancel and go back to my original provider since I switched original to them thinking they were a good group to go with!!! But fudge that -- my baby had issues and now I’m getting punished cause I claimed his issues

One word HORRIBLE!!! Just wondering how on earth they have 4 stars with so many negative reviews??!! Our healthy dog had some dental complications and surgery that was done a month ago. We have just received a check on $300....pure scam!! If I was smart enough I would have $6,000 on my saving account by now if I was not paying them on monthly bases $75 for 6.5 years.

Absolute scam. If your pet becomes ill they decrease your coverage to the point where you might as well not even be paying for coverage.

I am already not impressed with this company. I called on February 2 to get a quote and the CSR told me he was in Alberta and couldn’t help me so he took my coordinates and told me someone would call me the following Monday after 10am and I’m still waiting for their call. If that is representation of your customers service thanks for letting me know in advance i will call another company.

I use to think highly of Petsecure, I have been paying into it for almost 9 years at the top of the line coverage for my dog, I rarely put in claims though because the high annual deductibles just weren't worth it. But then my dog got sick, and I got some actual coverage... at first. Today while at the vet hospital doing his treatment I had to be notified by staff at the hospital that Petsecure cut my cover (kept charging me an arm and a leg) and never bothered to notify me about it!! So now all the money I have been paying out for 9 years instead of going to my dog and his treatments has all been wasted on a heartless company that targets and discriminates sick dogs that need help!...
