I am enrolled in the Platinum Dental Plan. The insurance failed and is refusing to pay any of the expenses incurred for an abscess. I have contacted them on two separate occasions, the dental services billing has been submitted twice and after both occasions the insurance still is refusing to pay for services. A root canal was required, upon the process of the root canal, the tooth broke, requiring its removal rather than a root canal and a new cantilever bridge was required to be installed. Upon two separate submissions with x-rays and associated documentation, United Health Care still is refusing to pay for these services which is contrary to their presentation of coverage. The cost... I have a life-disabling medical condition that is equivalent to the doctors needed for cancer, However, I see only 1 doctor for the last 2 years. One that puts my bones back in place every week to 2 weeks. If i flex wrong i pop a bone out of place. They will not cover the only doctor I see. They will not count all the money I pay to this doctor. They will not acknowledge the care i need. Horrible service.

Worst group with which I have ever dealt. They can never give you a straight answer. Their messages always have a bunch of bullshit added to them. It takes them forever to get anything done, even the simplest tasks. A bunch of their staff apparently doesn't want to do any work, so they just tell you to file an appeal instead of doing their job and resolving the issue. Their quotes are almost always wrong, and apparently, they are always giving the doctors' offices/facilities the wrong information in the first place, too. When their systems are not working, they expect you to fix them. Also, since they own OptumRX, you can image why that pharmacy has got to be the worst in the world. If I... Read More

Worst health insurance company ever. If you don't send an appeal letter, they will refuse or try not to pay for the procedure. It's like the insurance representative is better than your doctor. Half of the dental services they don’t cover even when you in so much pain. Heartless company.

What is a signature value plan, no value? If I can't take my handicap daughter to OU Children's hospital for services like hospitalization, epilepsy unit, lab, neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, orthopedic, endocrinology and women's health, what good are you?

I absolutely hate this company. I have to call costomer service to straighten out the most basic aspects of my coverage. For example, I was charged $200 for the first PCR covid test I recieved, a test supposedly garunteed to be free for all. They've dropped my coverage twice without notifying me leaving me uninsured for months without my knowledge. The lastest is with reguards to my routine physical. I had to call because my initial visit was listed as "out of network" despite subsequent visits being in network... interesting. My doctor told me to come in for a follow up to this routine visit. UHC charged me $120 in addition to the co pay for the follow up. When I asked why, they told me... Read More

I have to say this has to be the worst insurance company for those with underlying health issues. Majority of tests and medications your doctor orders are constantly in denial. Your care is delayed due to this policy. Furthermore, finding a good mental health provider is non existent because they have a separate outside service. Majority of good providers are not in-network. I don't understand why a health insurance company that would discriminate against those that actually need to use medical insurance. We are forced to purchase heath insurance but when we actually need to use it, it's an automatic denial. You have to constantly justify medically needed treatments with United... Read More

Customer service is terrible. Six calls so far and still have not solved a simple problem, and still get different answers every time i get a different representative. Remember the $35 insulin deal for Medicare recipients? UHC and others now calling this medication "medical equipment" for some of us, sending my costs from $35 to $176 per month. Makes my blood boil when i get their little notices telling me how much they care about my health. Keep looking for the loopholes UHC, and I will keep lobbying congress to clip your wings.

I am not going to associate with United Health Care ever again. I filed an appeal stating I was not aware of Kaiser Permanente & United Health Care do not work together. I was not feeling well at midnight of January, and there was no 24hr hospital besides Kaiser. Kaiser's staff said I am covered and good to go. And so, my appeal is denied and I am alone to pay $604 out of pocket without coverage. My health care expired, and I am not planning to renew or be a member with United Health care. Basically, I got screwed. For people who are planning to sign up with them, please don't.

My wife purchased a advantage plan for here Supplemental insurance, we found out it did not cover several of her doctors, so we talked to a representative of united health care whom signed us up for another plan she had in the past with them also for here prescription another plan. We were told to contact the Advantage plan people and get a letter saying were cancels the Advantage plan. WELL this lady said that she couldn't do that because medicare's rule wouldn't let here do this. Now we spent 3 hour's on the phone between the prescription department and the Supplement people and the Advantage people,, I can't believe that one person isn't capable of taking care of all of our needs with...
