Humana Dental Insurance is the worst dental insurance I have ever had! Their coverage is very selective, their customer service is terrible, the website rarely works & forget getting any assistance with billing errors or website errors. I regret not reading reviews on this company before getting a policy!

Humana Dental is not customer or user friendly. Website is clunky and requires nonintuitive clicks to get to your invoice. Defaults to no paper bills, and then is seemingly impossible to see your claims. Each member has to set up their own electronic account to see their individual claims. No way to see all claims at once. Customer service not very helpful.

"Phony list of providers." I was informed that as a member I must select a dentist from the provided list. That the doctor's name and address must match to receive coverage. When reviewing the provided list I found it nearly impossible. Offices were closed, providers had moved to a different locations, doctor(s) never in that location(s) and I found a variety of dead-ends. I have tried numerous attempts to find a doctor with no success, even with the assistance from Humana representatives. Unfortunately, it appears I must find a different dental plan as Humana Dental lacks success.

It's the Worst Company, I have called 6-7 times and can never get a person on the phone. They put you on hold and NEVER come back. The bill was 4 months wrong. I cancelled it with the Marketplace (the only way to Cancel), and kept getting Notices that my payment was late. I had it for a year and never used the service. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like if I actually had a Claim.

Humana, not run by humans.... When it comes to pay the bills they come with buzzard excuses for not paying the bills.

This is what you are likely to get paid if you buy dental insurance. In this case Humana Dental. This was an extraction of a root canal gone bad. The dentist charged $502, Humana Dental approved $277 for the procedure. It refused to cover a panoramic film which at the approved rate was $114. So it ended up covering the oral evaluation at 100 percent that was $50. For the removal of the tooth it covered 30 percent of $175 or $52.50. In short for a $502 billing approved at $277 they covered after a $50 deductible $52.50. Add your monthly premium to what you had to make up for what Humana Dental did not pay you have a big fat minus .

I got my membership for Humana Dental back in Jan and got my cards in Feb. 2020. I haven't been able to use my dental insurance due to they were closed down because of Covid 19. I decided I wont be going to get a dental check up while all of this is going on and wanted to cancel my membership. June 2020 I called and cancelled. They were friendly. I got confirmation that my plan was cancelled. Over the weekend July 2020 they took money out of my account. That cant be right because I cancelled. So I called them today and they said that yes I cancelled but I still have to pay until next year due to the fact that it was a year membership that they DID NOT tell me about when I got it in the... Has this happened to anyone else? Apparently I have had Humana Dental Insurance since 2017 and have been paying $24.99 each month. The $24.99 payment for the last three years I thought was for my Humana RX plan. I never signed up for Humana Dental Plan, I never received an ID card from them. I was shocked when I got a letter that said I had a payment due since my direct payment plan was changed. I have visited my dentist about four times in the last 3 years for checkups and cleanings, paid out of pocket. Would I have not given them the information regarding my insurance if I had know I had Humana Dental Insurance? I have paid them $899 the last three years. I put in a call to Humana. I am... I live in Florida and am a first-time Humana Dental client. After verifying with Humana customer service that my first provider visit was in network and preventive procedures are covered 100%, my general provider referred me to a periodontist. Humana will not allow another periodontal exam for six months, nor will they allow x rays by a second, referred provider for 5 years. After 15 (!) calls to their customer service, they suggested a "consultation" code 0190, which their in-network periodontist providers will not use because it isn't truthful. Moreover, my periodontal issues are being aggravated because I have to wait for 6 months, or ay out of pocket. I have had an awful experience... Read More

Worst insurance ever! We had this for 4 days.. Made an appointment with a dentist that their webpage said was covered by this specific plan, but he wasn't so we found another office that also said they were covered under this plan.. They called and cancelled. Customer service is in another country and hard to understand and they don't help! I cancelled just now and at least they refunded the money I paid for the first month and the application fee!
