THE HOME DEPOT® currently stands as one of the strongest competitors in the appliance repair industry. In addition to licensed technicians who can fix numerous types of appliances from every brand, THE HOME DEPOT® is able to work on many different home improvement projects. Strong reputation online further strengthens the company's position, which offsets the company's more negative customer experience. We recommend the THE HOME DEPOT® for anyone with appliance repair needs, but more so for consumers looking to enhance their repairs with home improvement or renovation projects.

THE HOME DEPOT® Customer Service and Reputation

Customer Service/Reputation - 5 / 5

THE HOME DEPOT® opened its doors in 1978. The company's reputation online is excellent, being BBB accredited while holding an A rating with the bureau. On the other hand, customer feedback is considerably low by comparison, owing to a sizable number of negative reviews and a bad 1.9 Trustpilot score. Been waiting for months for them to repair a washer/dryer we have, and we purchased the service plan from them. They are terrible.

Purchased new Samsung Washer and Dryer on 2/28/2020 and an additional 3 year warranty that I was told was available as of day one of purchase. Fast forward to a month ago. Washer got a leak, I called Home Depot for service. Was told it had to go thru Samsung, After hours and hours and hours of going back and forth following up, my washer is still not fixed and won't be fixed till 9/7. I will never recommend Home Depot for anything other than maybe a box of nails. Their whole customer service and warranty dept. is horrible.

I bought a Bosch dishwasher in Jan 2020 and needed service as the installer did not install the water drain correctly. Yesterday, Aug 10, I called the service telephone number and a recording said due to covid call back in 3 weeks. Called the store manager, and she said the first year has to be covered by the manufacturer. Total waste of money!

I purchased a $2200 GE refrigerator in April of 2019. Yesterday (July 17th) it stopped working. I also purchased a 5 year extended protection plan through Home Depot. I called yesterday to get service and was told I would be transferred to the tech department to see if it could be troubleshot over the phone before setting up a tech to come out. The only troubleshooting the tech told me was to unplug the fridge for 2 hours and plug back in. Didn’t work. He set up a service appointment for July 22nd, I asked to have something sooner he said there wasn’t anything. I called back to get someone else who might actually want to help me and a lady changed it to July 21st. If I had known that... Read More

I purchased a Home Depot extended warranty and it proved to be worthless. The water heater developed a water leak and even though the replacement water heater was covered by the manufacturer, the removal and reinstall was NOT covered by the Home Depot warranty. It broke within the Home Depot warranty period, but Home Depot would not pay for it - they said it was mechanically sound and therefore not broken. This was even though the internal water leak kept putting out the pilot light. Over the next 2 1/2 weeks the leak kept getting worse and with the water heater located in my attic, I had to make the decision to remove/replace it and pay the plumber myself (nearly $600). The Home... Read More

I have a Ridgid Generator that has less than 15 hrs on it. (Its only used when power goes out) This unit was purchased in Dec. 2014 and has been back to the Home Depot Service center twice. The first time I was very pleased. Repaired for under $70 and described as being a loose wire within. The second time I'm not so impressed. Received a notice the repair was going to be around $1000. and that it needed the generator head replaced due to condensation and rust as a result of the way it was stored. This generator has been inside a garage on a cement floor since purchased... Needless to say I requested it to be sent back. When I got some time, I looked into the repair on my... Read More

Home Depot sale warranties for appliances and refuse to repair the appliances when it is time. They will send an out sourced tech out and then say it is not covered. Save your money, HD warranty is GARBAGE!

I will not be purchasing another appliance from Home Depot as long as they use A&E appliance repair for their warranties...…..I've had nothing but heartache in my attempts to have repairs made to my appliances. No more! Read A&E's reviews on YELP.

Don't buy LG. Bought over 12000.00 in appliances a few years back all with extended 5 year warranty. Our LG refrigerator has seen several repairs over the past few years. This week it stopped cooling so we called Home Depot. They gave us the number of the repair company they were supposed to be sending out but they said they had to fax a work order to them. Two days later no calls, called the repair company and was told no order was sent. Called Home Depot for about the 5th time and was told that the servicing was now being done by LG and not Home Depot. LG cant give us a fix date. Not my fault that Home Depot has turned over a service contract to LG that I bought from Home Depot.... Read More
