We finally started getting payment from our annuity and its much less than the policy book amount, so there is probably a hidden clause somewhere. Once you start getting payments they want nothing to do with you so you can't even access your info on the website anymore. Wish we had never gotten in with them!

Over the last 3 years Allianz has made more on my investment than I have. I have own this for 5 years now and have gained less than 1% per year. It is suppose to be secure, I understand that, but being secure and paying Allianz more than I make was never the plan from the beginning.

I feel the negative comments for Allianz Life Annuities has more to do with the broker than Allianz. My broker, Strategies for Wealth Management, explained the pros and cons concisely. It is a "safe" investment. It does not lose money but it sometimes doesn't make money. It only adjust 1 day a year on your anniversary. If the market is up you gain profits but if it is down you do not lose money. Being a victim of the Lehman Brothers disaster and losing all our savings (later recovered after 3 years!) made me realize I do not want to risk being wiped out. So this annuity works for me. I have other accounts that have "potential" to increase in value but also potential to lose it all!! Make... Read More

Almost 10 yrs. ago I bought several annuities from Allianz with Derek N. Sauerwine. From the onset, I told him that I never wanted one for over 5 yrs. due to my age. I didn't notice that after the first two, he put me in two for 10 yrs. I was told that I would never lose any money, but everyone now has told me that they were lousy investments. Around 2014, I wanted to take my husband off as beneficiary because he has Alzheimer. Derek dropped me as a client, so I haven't had an agent since then. Several years ago, I went to a Fair & saw a sign for Allianz. I told the reps that I would never invest with them because the client can't even change beneficiaries without getting dropped by the... The complaint below is not an issue with Allainz. Allianz never has promised those types of returns. Mrs Beckham should be calling the Dept Of Insurance in her state and filing a case against the agent. Bob shellybeckham Dallas, Texas 6/11/2019 When I became a widow 10 years ago, a person in my church "sold" me these. It was presented as a no brainer and that they were doing me a "favor". I was told I would receive a 10% "bonus" and returns of approx, 13 to 18% a year. As it turned out, the "bonus" is over the entire term of the 10-year contract and I've had returns of under 5%!!!! I can't begin to tell you how horrible annuities are. UNLESS you have a disabled person in your... Read More

I can't begin to tell you how horrible annuities are. UNLESS you have a disabled person in your family that you are worried about taking care of for their lifetime - DO NOT BUY ANY ANNUITIES. I am trying to get out of these right now after 2 years of making 0% -- NOT even any interest on my daughter's college fund -- and that's just one of 4... Read More
