Overall Rating: 3.8 / 5 (Very good)

HomeServe lets customers select from coverage plans for home systems and major appliances for a monthly fee. Customers can choose from plumbing, electrical, and cooling and heating plans. Claims are serviced via a 24/7 repair hotline and local independent contractors who send their licensed and insured technicians to the customer’s home. All repairs are backed by a 12-month guarantee. Overall, HomeServe seems to be a good fit for homeowners who want to avoid the unforeseen expenses of emergency repairs. However, before purchasing a service plan, carefully read the service agreement and note which repairs and services are included.

HomeServe Coverage and Plans

Coverage & Plans - 3.9 / 5

HomeServe's Cooling System Coverage averages $12.99 per month. It is not available in all areas, however, as HomeServe works with independent contractors. Service is scheduled by calling the 24/7 repair hotline and speaking to a representative. Although repairs are backed by a one-year guarantee, not all repairs are covered under the plan. The company does, however, include a list of both covered and not covered items for each service contract it offers. There is also a maximum benefit limit of $1,500 per 12-month term for the cooling system plan. Additional repair charges that over the benefit limit must be paid by the customer.

HomeServe Customer Experience

Customer Experience - 4 / 5

Although HomeServe has 4.3 out of 5 stars and an A+ rating with the BBB, the provider has mixed reviews with the organization and on several other review platforms. This is perhaps because as a nationwide provider of home repair service plans, HomeServe depends on local contractors and technicians to provide the service. Consequently, it would be wise to research the company's local reviews before purchasing one of its service plans.
