I am very happy to have Nationwide Pet Insurance. I have carried the insurance for a number of years and a number of dogs I have owned. I have been very happy with the return I have had on the premiums that I have paid. When I get the payments the reasons for payments and nonpayments they are explained very well. My reason for getting my pets insured was after loosing one of my Basset Hounds to an immunosuppressive disease I realized that I possibly do more to help my pets if I had insurance on them. I have recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to many of my friends.

I submitted my claims online and then called customer service two days later. Emily Briggs was absolutely amazing and such a wonderful help. She helped expedite Tucker's claims and I could not be happier with her professionalism and friendliness. She was a pleasure to speak with and I am so happy you have such caring service reps who truly care about our pets. A++++++++

I have had Petplan insurance for 15 years for 4 different dogs, and for just 2 of my Golden Retrievers, who unfortunately had numerous health issues they have saved me well over $30,000. But thanks to great health care one lived a happy eleven years, and my eight year Golden is happy and loving life. Because of Petplan I never had to think twice about proceeding with a surgery or treatment, whether it was a simple cracked tooth that needed to be pulled or treatment for mast cell cancer. The new rates are a bit higher but still well worth it, even my German Shepard who is healthy, but has allergies her medication is covered. The staff is great to work with, friendly, helpful, claims processed easily, just scan paperwork and email, check usually in the mail in about 2 weeks.

I have had my insurance for a couple of years for my dog. I was thinking of canceling it because I didn't use it. Luckily, I didn't, my dog was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and the cost were huge. I turned my claim into VPI and they paid all but $250.00 of it. Wow!! Not only that but, I was paid with each claim in less than 14 days. Very convenient you can follow your claim on thier website. Thank you VPI. It was worth every penny I paid into it.

I've had PetPlan for years, I think around 8 years now and I cannot be happier with their coverage, speed of processing claims and the amounts that they cover and reimburse. They do not split hairs, and I never had a question or a doubt that they were not being fair in their reimbursements. I've had three cats covered through them, out of which one had to be put down due to acute renal failure and it cost in the ER hospital fees in thousands of $ (LA, CA). They paid me back everything, minus the deductible and up to 80% for the ER/specialty care. Then I adopted my second cat, who is still rather young, but he just had a second bout of pancreatitis in his short 5 years of live. He barely survived and the bill again was in thousands of $$$ for having to rush him in between an ER and ER Specialty hospital. PetPlan again covered a fair deal and sent me a check within 10 days. No questions asked. Fair coverage, happy customer and my cat pulled through, thankfully to this great insurance and even more so to the staff of the two hospitals that took a good care of him. Thank you PetPlan!

I think your review is really unfair to VPI. I had VPI when I owned a very ill great dane and they paid out more than they would have recouped if the dog had lived 10 years. I currently have Pet Plan because of all the GLOWING reviews that I had read and am on the verge of dropping them because I'm paying more for their coverage than I did with VPI and they have NEVER paid out a SINGLE DIME! Not even for an animal attack. With Pet Plan, you are banking on your dog getting some hereditary illness later in life that will be costly, but the day to day costs of owning a pet? Forget it. I'm going back to VPI.
