My husband and I have been nothing but impressed with PetPlan and the security it offers for us and our two dogs. Every claim we have filed that is eligible has been paid within 3 weeks of submitting. In addition, every employee we have emailed or spoken with over the phone has seemed genuinely interested in our dogs' well being. Despite the plan rates going up this year, we will continue with Pet Plan because we know that we can rely on them.

we have had petplan for years. We have always been treated with respect and our vet bills get paid. If it werent for petplan we wouldn't be able to keep one of our dogs who has been very ill. I would guess over the years they have put over 35K into our labrador with degenerative disk disease, hip dysplasia, teeth problems( root canals/extractions) and autoimmune issues.

I'm not sure why some people are so unhappy. We've had Nationwide since 2006. We have insured multiple dogs in that time and I have never had an issue. We did have to wait about 6 weeks or so for one complicated claim, but I was reimbursed beyond what I expected. We also had a dog die during a dental. I submitted everything and they actually combed through the policy to make sure we got as much as possible which ended up being more than expected. Obviously we would have preferred to have our dog back, but having most of the unexpected expenses (CPR, IV meds during attempts at resuscitation, etc) was helpful financially. I have a dog now that developed significant environmental allergies a bit later in life and we've had no issues with reimbursement on injection meds, daily allergy meds, and so forth. We have been very happy. They are, in my experience, vet up front with what the exclusions are. We have had no surprises. To date, we have insured 5 dogs with them.

I have found Nationwide Pet Insurance to be great. The claims are processed quickly and reimbursement checks are sent in a timely manner. The website is user friendly. It is easy to find pending claims and to access pre-filled claim forms. My veterinarian recommended Nationwide and I followed his advice with my new puppy It's fortunate I did as my puppy broke her leg in December, 2016 and the cost of the surgery was very high. Nationwide came through for me quickly. Anyone who has a pet should purchase insurance from Nationwide and I have highly recommended it to all my friends who have pets.

I have had my insurance for a couple of years for my dog. I was thinking of canceling it because I didn't use it. Luckily, I didn't, my dog was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and the cost were huge. I turned my claim into VPI and they paid all but $250.00 of it. Wow!! Not only that but, I was paid with each claim in less than 14 days. Very convenient you can follow your claim on thier website. Thank you VPI. It was worth every penny I paid into it.

I've had PetPlan for years, I think around 8 years now and I cannot be happier with their coverage, speed of processing claims and the amounts that they cover and reimburse. They do not split hairs, and I never had a question or a doubt that they were not being fair in their reimbursements. I've had three cats covered through them, out of which one had to be put down due to acute renal failure and it cost in the ER hospital fees in thousands of $ (LA, CA). They paid me back everything, minus the deductible and up to 80% for the ER/specialty care. Then I adopted my second cat, who is still rather young, but he just had a second bout of pancreatitis in his short 5 years of live. He barely survived and the bill again was in thousands of $$$ for having to rush him in between an ER and ER Specialty hospital. PetPlan again covered a fair deal and sent me a check within 10 days. No questions asked. Fair coverage, happy customer and my cat pulled through, thankfully to this great insurance and even more so to the staff of the two hospitals that took a good care of him. Thank you PetPlan!

I think your review is really unfair to VPI. I had VPI when I owned a very ill great dane and they paid out more than they would have recouped if the dog had lived 10 years. I currently have Pet Plan because of all the GLOWING reviews that I had read and am on the verge of dropping them because I'm paying more for their coverage than I did with VPI and they have NEVER paid out a SINGLE DIME! Not even for an animal attack. With Pet Plan, you are banking on your dog getting some hereditary illness later in life that will be costly, but the day to day costs of owning a pet? Forget it. I'm going back to VPI.
