My Nationwide Pet Insurance policy for Molly went into effect 2-1-17, on 2-14-17 she began to throw up. Took her to the vet......2 days later she was having emergency surgery! I filed my claim and crossed my fingers. In rapid turn around time everything except a few cans of dog food out of the $978.16 final cost was either reimbursed or went towards my deductible!! My deductible is a very reasonable $250. I could not be more impressed or pleased with Nationwide!!!! Excellent customer service, quick turn around time for claims and excellent coverage. I almost waited another year to even start the policy-so glad I did not. You never know what could happen. Molly is only one and a half years old.

I bought the most expensive insurance plan, the whole pet and wellness plan. They claim 90% of bills are covered and it's true. My german shephard (best dog in the world) was diagnosed with fistula(s) and the treatment is expensive and ongoing. He's also been put on a prescription diet. He's getting better. Without this insurance, I doubt most people could afford these bills out of pocket. I'm very impressed and grateful this plan is offered.

The "happiness manager" (Emily B.) did a great job working through a somewhat complicated claim issue, with a favorable result for our claim (with several calls and always with a pleasant and welcoming manner -- a pleasure to work with her). To get such a favorable result means that the claims adjuster was also willing to work out the issue to our benefit. We had a different insurer for one of our cats, and the Pet Plan experience has been a welcome relief. We will recommend Pet Plan to other pet owners.

I cannot say enough positive remarks about Petplan. My dog Coco became suddenly ill and was in grave condition. She had acute pancreatitis/Gastroenteritis and was hospitalized in/out for a couple of weeks. While she was being treated for this condition it was discovered that she had Cancer. I was devastated as most pet parents would be. I almost lost Coco last weekend and my heart was broke. I had to submit claim after claim to Pet Plan and I thought for sure I would lose my insurance however; Pet Plan was incredible. They paid my claims without hesitation and never once denied any claims for me. I am thankful for Pet Plan and I have been asked numerous times at the hospitals and vets who I use for insurance. I am happy to report the best insurance company any pet owner could have. Thank you for all the support, kindness and keep the Fetch Magazine for I found an article that was so valuable to me during this difficult time. I am happy to report Coco is still with me thanks to all the great doctors and to Pet Plan who worked with me the entire time.

I have had my insurance for a couple of years for my dog. I was thinking of canceling it because I didn't use it. Luckily, I didn't, my dog was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and the cost were huge. I turned my claim into VPI and they paid all but $250.00 of it. Wow!! Not only that but, I was paid with each claim in less than 14 days. Very convenient you can follow your claim on thier website. Thank you VPI. It was worth every penny I paid into it.

I've had PetPlan for years, I think around 8 years now and I cannot be happier with their coverage, speed of processing claims and the amounts that they cover and reimburse. They do not split hairs, and I never had a question or a doubt that they were not being fair in their reimbursements. I've had three cats covered through them, out of which one had to be put down due to acute renal failure and it cost in the ER hospital fees in thousands of $ (LA, CA). They paid me back everything, minus the deductible and up to 80% for the ER/specialty care. Then I adopted my second cat, who is still rather young, but he just had a second bout of pancreatitis in his short 5 years of live. He barely survived and the bill again was in thousands of $$$ for having to rush him in between an ER and ER Specialty hospital. PetPlan again covered a fair deal and sent me a check within 10 days. No questions asked. Fair coverage, happy customer and my cat pulled through, thankfully to this great insurance and even more so to the staff of the two hospitals that took a good care of him. Thank you PetPlan!

I think your review is really unfair to VPI. I had VPI when I owned a very ill great dane and they paid out more than they would have recouped if the dog had lived 10 years. I currently have Pet Plan because of all the GLOWING reviews that I had read and am on the verge of dropping them because I'm paying more for their coverage than I did with VPI and they have NEVER paid out a SINGLE DIME! Not even for an animal attack. With Pet Plan, you are banking on your dog getting some hereditary illness later in life that will be costly, but the day to day costs of owning a pet? Forget it. I'm going back to VPI.
