Today is May 25, 2018,9am. I spoke with their highly trained " f in joke person who took down my complaint and as always assured me that someone would contact me with in 24 hr. What a joke. Still waiting ....now 5pm the same day. My problem a stopped up kitchen sink. I have personally snaked it twice with a 15 foot drain snake plus a power flush hose with no avail. ,but wait my phone is ringing.......it's home guard rep telling me my complaint has been passed on to a qualified plumbing company and they have 24 hours to contact me. I could not be more disgusted by a home warranty company! If i was able to give 1 star, I would!! We've had 2 issues since moving into our home only 2 months ago. The first one was the sewage system. I was 6 weeks pregnant and could not flush our toilets due to the sewage pipe burst and there was raw sewage in our basement (Hello - pregnancy health hazard). We called immediately - they promised a quick phone call back from their scheduling team. 6 hours later no phone call....I called back a 2nd time, and they said they would send it over ot their dispatch team and we should have a call back to schedule in about an hour.....no call back. FOR SHAME - My real estate agent bought this home warranty for me and I'm starting to believe that the employees get bonuses for finding reasons to decline coverage. I have 2 wall heaters 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The home inspector flagged the one upstairs as in-operational, but said nothing about the downstairs one. I had PG&E come out to do a check on all gas appliances. He noted the same thing. Now the downstairs one is not working and this company is fighting me tooth and nail on covering the downstairs heater. Please , don't use this company they are terrible , Robert Hessling is the most ignorant business owner , I don't know how he is still in business, they market themselves like a pro , but in fact they are unprofessional , Reckless , Rude they pretend can't hear you over the phone and hang up the call and this Robert Hessling the company owner he should learn his lessens this time he is barking on a wrong tree , see you in court Robert . they try all the tricks and tactics not to pay for service
This company is terrible. I called about my A/C not working. They sent their repair man out to fix it. 1 week later it goes out again, and again they sent their repair man to fix it. 3 weeks later it goes out again only this time it's leaking water all over my brand new carpet!!!! I called them to tell them the problem. They said they would get ahold of their repair man and call back to set up an appointment. 3 days no call and my carpet is getting more and more soaked!!!! And we have no working A/C. My contract is up in Oct and I'll definitely be taking my business to a different company.
this home warranty company is fantastic. quick and efficient service. people that are complaining need to know what they are buying and what's covered. most complaints seem to wants something fixed that was either not working at close of escrow or was not covered under the policy that they purchased. this company has really been great for me.
This outfit is a waste of money. The escrow company (Homestead Escrow) used in our last property transaction took out a home warranty policy, with HomeGuard, to cover unforeseen problems. Out of two clearly stated areas, they have denied any responsibility. In other words, they cover nothing. I was forced to select, at least, 1/2 star to have this posted.
I had a great experience with this company. My client purchased their home and it required tenting for termite treatment. The gas had to be turned off. The Gas Company then has to turn it back on. Unfortunately the Gas Company now "Red tags" a majority of all inspections so that a HVAC contractor assumes the liability of any repairs minor or major. All Home Warranty companies will not cover any red tagged equipment. Home Guard does will for $25! I contacted Danielle Nelson and she made it happen. It was a minor repair and everyone is extremely happy! Thank you Danielle!
Waste of money. Do not purchase it. While it does cover a vast majority of repairs, you have to use their contractors or contact them before any repair is done. Which is counter productive in an emergency. We recently had to repair a garage spring. We couldn't wait for them to come out as we needed to get in and out of the garage. Found out after the fact that they don't reimburse for repairs. I would hate to think what would happen if the sump pump was failing or another serious issue.
