The Fourth of July in 2017 marks the 241st anniversary since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Thirteen colonies of America declared themselves as states and no longer part of the British Empire.
Everyday thousands of people made their way to the "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" to purse the American Dream. People were entitled to seek life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The Fourth of July is one of the biggest holidays celebrated in the U.S. -- Across the country people will be celebrating with fireworks, parades, picnics, family reunions and baseball games.
New York City will be the best place in America to celebrate Independence Day. The annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks will mark its 41st celebration. There will be 5 barges launching the fireworks from the East River between 24th and 41st streets. The shows start around 9pm, but is suggested people arrive earlier to catch a good viewing spot.
When people think of Independence Day, they can't help but think of The Statue of Liberty. The statue is a beacon for freedom and hope.
My dog Sammy and I were fortunate to run into the Statue of Liberty in Central Park. You see, at the actual Statue of Liberty there are no dogs allowed. So this was a real treat for Sammy.
It turns out the actual Statue of Liberty sends out disciples all over NYC so all can enjoy the Pride of America.
Lady liberty was friendly and patient while allowing many to enjoy photo opps. And this photo right here, has become a NYC classic.
Happy 4th of July everyone.
