Price and Convenience

To be able to receive prescription medication by mail, patients first need to be medically evaluated to determine an adequate acne treatment plan. This consultation costs $35 and includes direct care from the Nurx medical team for one year. On the other hand, the medications listed above are covered by insurance. Nurx bills your insurance company and charges you the copay depending on your coverage. Nurx accepts most health insurance plans including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, CVS Caremark, United Health Care, Tricare, and many others.

Even if you don’t have insurance, you can pay out-of-pocket for the prescription medications. Out-of-pocket prices can start at $25 per month for topical and $15 to $30 for oral treatments.

Orders are shipped directly from one of Nurx’s partner pharmacies, which are licensed to dispense and ship prescriptions to your location. Alternatively, you can request to have the script sent to the pharmacy of your choice and pick up the prescription yourself.

All non-prescription products sold on the Nurx website are also clearly priced, though they are not covered by insurance and have to be paid out-of-pocket. Nurx offers free shipping to eligible locations on purchases of $30 or more for these items.
